those are priced pretty decently. ordered 4 of the things. hopefully won't need them but the shipping was the same either way so 4 made more sense
had the truck towed to the dealer and they are saying initial diagnostic is a PCM issue but it was the end of the day so they won't know for sure...
Disconnected the battery and let it sit all night and it made no difference. Also tried reconnecting the PCM cables but the damn lever things snapped off. They sit there tight enough I wouldn’t think I would have disturbed them while changing the plugs but who knows
sitting around 115,000km. only real issue is i noticed is it hesitates starting a bit more now that it's getting cold out so i figured i'd change the plugs. the old plugs do look a bit rough and the threads on em were getting fairly rusty so probably best to get them out before they get stuck...
i can't really see it being another problem but who knows. truck was completely fine this morning before i changed them and only had issues after changing so it's gotta be related. don't think i damaged anything while changing them especially since i only actually disconnected 5 of the coil packs
ah ok that makes sense, it got dark out so never actually checked the manual. you'd think the Bosch and NGK Iridium would be fairly interchangeable tho
that one is such a pain to get at so i never actually disconnected the wire so it should be fine. i suppose maybe the coil didn't seat properly but you'd think that'd make it misfire like crazy. either way i'll likely run it into the shop, i lost enough blood changing the damn plugs lol
anyone else had this happen? my code reader is saying something about cylinder 7 deactivation circuit. took it for a test drive around the block and about 1/4 mile in the truck completely died. sat for about 5 min and it restarted and i drove around for a good 30 min without any issues. rpm...
had the check engine light come on last year which turned out to be just the gas cap but there was also U0140 showing up on my reader which i believe is the body control module. mentioned it when i was at the dealer a couple weeks later and they said that they couldn't find any codes. rechecked...
he did hand calculate it but i can't remember exactly what his results were. it was still really high tho, i could actually watch his fuel gauging slowly going down as we drove.
didn't check the exhaust but plan to next time i see him. i didn't notice any smell but also wasn't paying attention...
that's the one thing i didn't really get a chance to check. he was driving about 40km/h and it was at 1000rpm but i forgot to look at it going highway speeds. not sure what mine runs at(will check tomorrow) but 1000rpm at 40 doesn't sound high to me. at that speed and rpm the bar on his EVIC was...
out in the country so really no short trips. i did notice his idle time was a bit high but that shouldn't make THAT much of a difference. mine has a little higher usage during winter, maybe around 19mpg but definitely not 10mpg. oddly enough i personally actually idle less during winter. i...
was using mpg because it's generally easier for the yanks. miles/km on the truck is really kinda irrelevant but i did feel it was worth mentioning that my 2014 has had pretty consistent fuel usage from day one. friends truck is showing 22.8L/100km on the EVIC and he claims he's getting about...
really? it has a column shifter so i assumed it was a 6 speed. either way the transmission won't make that much of a difference on fuel economy
[edit] on the website i see the ST and SXT listed as having the 6 speed
friend of mine recently bought a new 2017 1500 with the hemi and 6 speed. apparently it's just guzzling down the gas and getting about 10 mpg. only 2300km on the truck and no towing or driving like an idiot. i average about 21mpg with my 2014 and it's had pretty consistent fuel usage for the...
if a bumpy ride is an issue it'll be a little worse with the air lift. unloaded can also be rough unless you air down the bags to 5-10psi. they sure do help with the squat tho and i really don't care if i have a bumpy ride or not
they really should bring some of them back. i'm not saying everything should have to be greased but major things like driveshafts and wheel bearings would be nice
i assume that's what he's talking about. there's also the stability control which as far as i know can only be turned off by pulling fuses which of course will make the dash light up like a christmas tree
BFG KO2s made a massive difference for me. those damn SRAs are nothing but garbage and have no business being on a truck. just look how much the stupid things squat on the front just from the engine weight. whoever thought it was a good idea to put that shit on a truck needs a boot up the ass...
i love when people throw out insults without giving any sort of constructive argument. It makes it really easy to figure out who's talking out of their ass and can have their opinions completely disregarded
