    quick question

Good for you! Mine is very sentimental to me too, I've had it for 12 years and wouldn't get rid of it for anything, even though it sat for years without running. Good luck!

Poor Starting - Possible Carb Issue

If it's flooding, usually they'll start if you put the gas pedal to the floor (to open up the carb) and hold it down while you crank it. If it's flooding, it also usually smells very strongly of gasoline. Different problem if you have to pump the pedal to get it to start. Could be the fuel...

    Body Lift Question

See that's what I thought too, but a few phone calls to 4x4 places here in TX and everyone agrees that it won't fit from a D150 to W150 - no explanation why though. The major 4WD place here in town gave up on mine already and they have a lot of odd lifted things, lol. I haven't given up...

    Cheapest price for Sirius/XM?

I got a statement a couple of weeks ago for $20 for 5 months...I won't pay $15 a month for it though. I had a free 3 month trial initially and it's ok, but not worth $15 a month. We have a ton of over passes here and every time i drive under one it cuts out anyway.

    Body Lift Question

I have a 84 D150 and as far as I have found, they do not make kits for a body or suspension lift for these anymore. I've tried both of the major 4x4 places in town. Getting it for the W150 is do able, but they don't fit the D150 (2 WD). So what we did to lift up my 84 is put 3/4 ton springs on...

    Need a hand

Definitely was not fun - pics of the progress. The whole little spindle yanked out without the UCA off of it, but like you mentioned, it did need to come off to install the new one. We took the caliper and rotor off to start with just to have more room. Shattered a 13/16th socket with the...

    Newbie needs help

I am pretty sure those will fit, you could always measure to confirm it though! From what I read, the 2003 Dodge has a 5 x 5.5 bolt pattern as well.

Level & 3" Body Lift Pics Only

Pretty sure this is only a 3" lift - not sure on the leveling, I haven't been under it much other than to replace the CV axle. (sorry, it was muddy in the pic, it's dark gray lol) Rims 20", Tires 35's - no spacers on it.

    Need a hand

Hey, that worked, got the UCA off (that wasn't easy either) and we managed to get it on, so now to reassemble! Thanks! BTW we love the new Ram, she's a beauty.

    Need a hand

Oh and speaking of the bearings and all, they came out of the boot on the CV axle, the retainer came out in little bitty pieces through the boot as well. We got the first one off in pieces (they weren't happy about their core being ripped to shreds, haha) but getting one on has been a fucking...

    Need a hand

Yeah the caliper and rotor is off completely, we're working on the UCA now but it's tight and we snapped our 13/16ths socket in 3 places lol. It's been an adventure, I"ll post pics of the new beasty tomorrow, providing we get it fixed and my boyfriend isn't taking my truck to work.

    Need a hand

So we just bought a 2009 Ram 1500 5.7 HEMI - it has a bad CV axle. So spent a couple of hours trying to wrench it out and finally got it, got a new half shaft and...we can't get it in! We've tried everything short of pulling the entire hub off (brakes are off, calipers off)...what now? ideas...

    Looking to Lift My 2WD

I'm not sure about those springs Leadfoot. I still haven't gotten my spacers on, because I spaced out and left them at home.

    Looking to Lift My 2WD

Stiff I don't mind, but with the bigger springs it was dangerous - it would shudder if you braked or turned even at reasonable speeds. I'll check out the autozone tomorrow and see if they have one I can borrow before I invest in something I'm probably not going to need more than once (hopefully).

OEM/Coil spring compressor (27035) | Coil Spring Compressor | AutoZone.com Would one like this work? Looks like a $50 deposit, which I can do, if it's going to cause me less hassle, screaming, cussing, and busted knuckles. On a side note, when I first replaced the coil springs (there's a story...

    Looking to Lift My 2WD

I can't do it like this? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6uJ4pZxl4_g That's how my mom's friend put the coils on it without one. Problem is I don't have the money for a spring compressor (that I'll probably never use again) I'll see if I can rent one from Autozone here, I doubt their autozone...

    Looking to Lift My 2WD

I'll get some new pics this weekend of it. We don't have a spring compressor, one of my mom's friends put my coils on without a compressor though, using a floor jack and the weight of the truck. I'll have to get him to show me how to do it but it took him less than an hour to put them both on...

    FNG from Hell..er...Phoenix

Welcome! I'm originally from Willcox AZ (it's ok if you don't know where it is...we understand) but live in Hell Paso, TX. Definitely on-board with losing the 4x4. My Yukon is 4x4 but other than when I lived in upstate NY, I've used it once...to go mud bogging, and I probably didn't need it...

Guess I'll have 150k miles forever

Ah gotcha, I've seen a lot of my friends with the same speedometer cable issue. Always wondered if it's just a weak part or the fact that it's 30 years old. :) Mine's been stuck on 125, 300 something for the last 7 years, but also it's been sitting almost that long too.

Guess I'll have 150k miles forever

I think this might be common, when I changed out the transmission in my 84 the odometer never worked again (and yeah I'm sure I hooked it up) I was having speedometer issues just prior to that as well. Still haven't fixed that with the odometer but the speedometer works

    Hi from Texas!

Found another pic of my beast this morning. :) It's not that tall, you can see it's on blocks (so it wouldn't ruin my tires) but older pic because I've moved it since then lol. Next to it is a 77 Datsun truck that runs but the timing chain needs adjusting. Oh and one of my regular driver, 4x4...

    Looking to Lift My 2WD

Yeah, no problems, just bolted right up. It's the front springs that suck since they used coils on the 1/2 ton truck and small leaf springs on the 3/4 ton. We did that for the added clearance when I put too much weight on the old beast (horse trailers, car trailers, 2000 lbs of hay) and no...

    Hi from Texas!

Good stuff, thanks! It's more of a play toy, since I have a 2004 Yukon that I drive, but was trying to get it fixed up for my boyfriend to play with. I was wondering if cold air was even useful on something that old, but couldn't find anything contradictory or in favor of it. I didn't know...

    Looking to Lift My 2WD

Ah see I have extra leafs on the back as it is now (I used to haul hay with the old beast and a ton of hay on 1/2 ton springs wasn't cutting it) so maybe a leveling kit will even it out, the back does sit pretty high compared to the front (and that's obviously where I'm having rubbing issues)...

    D100/150 spring swap

I have a 84 D150 and put 3/4 ton springs on the back of it. The back end sits up higher than the front now but it does work.
