Hoping to maybe get some direction here. I'm kicking around swapping the center console trim bezel (floor console) on my wife's Ram 2500. It's the old style with stupid cup holder design. Anyways, I've been kicking around this mod for a while and originally came up with part # 5VC931Z6AB for...
Just curious what the useful life span is for the stock ball joints and steering stabilizer are on the 2500 gasser. We've got a 2014 that recently ticked over 100k. It's been riding on a 3" Pure Performance Triple Thread stage 3 lift for the last 6yrs/75k miles. Whether its relevant or not...
Any number of factors can affect adverse tire wear. Improper load rating, vehicle weight, tire inflation, rotation intervals, etc.
Not implying that is the case with your tires, just in general.
I’ve got a 4yo G2 BakFlip. On the whole it’s not been too bad, though as it’s aged it tends to leak more as the rubber seals wear. A point of annoyance is the chintzy way they dealt with the mounting of the arms that hold the cover in place when it’s completely flipped against the cab. The...
Is it coming in at the weather strip or through the canister? I read somewhere (an amazon review I think) about how when the water drains forward into the can it drips out the bottom of the canister.
So I’m considering replacing the BakFlip folding cover that I bought for my wife’s Ram several years back. Mostly it’s been a pretty good cover, however it’s not without it’s quirks or issues. Over the years it seems to leak more, the prop rod’s used to hold the cover up when it’s flipped...
If we have a transmission issue again, we might consider having a heavy duty rebuild done on it. Knock on wood hopefully the warranty repair will hold up for a good long while. To your other point about shoddy repairs from the dealer, I hear what you're saying, however I'll counter with I feel...
Admittedly this post is part question, part rant.
From what I've heard and read, transmissions seem to be the Achilles heal on Ram trucks and maybe mostly centered around cheap clutches used in their transmissions (or so I'm told by my buddy who was researching trans issues after we developed...
I'm a little late to this party but have a question for you. When you did the trans service, did you use all Mopar parts and fluid or aftermarket?
Just curious if that was a give away that something had been done.
Asking as I think I'm in a similar boat with my wife's Ram 2500. We did a...
I came across that part # on Amazon, however it's 1-2 months out and can't seem to find any place that has it. If you know where it can be found, please share your secret.
Cancelling the warranty and getting a prorated refund (we've done this several times) is different than getting your money back if you don't use the warranty.
My wife's truck is sitting at the dealer now for a related but different issue. Her popped up P0734 for a gear ratio error in 4th gear. In talking with my buddy he seems to think it's related to the thermostat issue, the truck trying to hold a gear longer in an effort to get the engine to warm...
That's something I'd want to see in writing. Not saying it isn't true, however that would seem to completely defeat the purpose of selling an extended warranty since those are profit centers.
The problem is that the thermostat cannot be had from literally anywhere from anyone (dealer/online/local parts stores). I'm in need of a thermostat for my wife's Ram (same year and and engine as OP) and I'm just as screwed. I've called around to about a dozen different places from dealers to...
I've searched and searched and yet oddly I cannot find the information I'm looking either on through google searches.
Can anyone advise on what the size the jam nuts and adjuster are for the factory drag link on a 2014 Ram 2500? Hoping to pick up the correct size and not have to rely on using...
I'm not saying your wrong, however I'm more inclined to think that a caliper seizing up has more to do with moisture getting the caliper slides and causing corrosion. At least that's an observation I made after doing a brake job on my Jeep last fall.
Picked the truck up for the wife in Oct of 2014 brand new and now have about 31k on the OD. Granted just over 9100 of those miles include two road trips we've done to Yellowstone and Southern California.
I don't know about confident but after my experience with the 37x13.5 tires I'm thinking with my set up a 12.5 might give me smidge more breathing room and maybe not rub on the radius arms.
I agree with you there. Swapping out the stock arms & drop brackets is something I'm thinking about for the future.
We'll see how things go. This year the wife's truck got the TLC, next year it will have to be my Jeep. :naughty:
