Well truck is back from hospital, just in time to be traded off I think, lol. It took a TB and a new pcm controller, along with cleaning the pcm connector terminals. May be going for a 2019 ram 1500 bighorn.
I did try that relearn but I'll do it one more time. When I tried it last time it started flashing the lightning bolt icon and electronic throttle control fault. Hope this comes around or it's bye bye ram.
My 2013 Ram 1500 has the dreaded electronic throttle control fault with transmission in limp mode/4th gear, reverse, neutral, park only, also has a trans ‘a’ solenoid fault that didn’t appear until the throttle fault happened. I bought an accelerator pedal and throttle body by recommendations of...
Magz, Where did you mount the compressor? I want to mount mine under the hood, on the firewall behind the battery. Airlift says to not mount it under the hood but I don't see why it would hurt. At least it would be protected from water spray and grime.
ok long story short. Reason for two-step upgrade was I had bought a different cluster and it ended up not working with my tire pressure monitor so swapped it with an Ra3 radio.this was after I had bought the 5.0 radio so I will be selling my 5.0 after I get upgrade parts to install Bluetooth mic...
I just read this whole thread and still no answer to my question. I am upgrading my radio from a 3.0 originally to a 5.0 and finally to a 8.4 ra3. What do I need to buy other than the mirror to add my bluetooth mic?
Here is what I'm going to test tonight hopefully. A coworker base a 21014 truck. I'm going to put his rear tires on my 2013 to see if the 2014 cluster will recognize his sensors in my 2013 truck. I read somewhere that the Tpms system talks to the pcm first then the cluster. Wish me luck.
Thanks, "BUT" if the frequency changed wouldn't that mean that the new sensors Would not work in a 2013 truck since the Sensors talk to a module other than the Cluster. Then the decoded info is sent to the cluster, Correct?
Found out why this is happening. I bought a 2014 cluster under the ill-fated assumption that 2013 and up were the same, Well no dice. Ram made a change to the TPMS system for the 2014 MY. Don't buy a 2014 cluster for a 2013 truck.
okay so I did an acid test this morning I removed the 7-inch cluster and reinstalled my 3 inch evic again. my tire pressure monitor instantly resumed operation.so I think there may be some validity to the 2014 being different than 2013 part. I also found this discussion...
Yes I have driven the truck. And it still doesn't work. I may be an isolated case but this is where care must be taken labeling something "Plug and play". I know a bcm flash wont be free.
Cluster upgrade issue
Ok guys, Im passing on my experience with this so far. I know this thread is about 2014 express trucks. But if like me you have a 2013 express beware of this little caveat. Ram made a change between 2013 and 2014 on the TPMS system sensors. I bought cgeorgemo's 11k cluster...
I swapped my basic evic for a premium. Now my tire pressure light is lit and I have service tire pressure monitor message stored. How do I fix this without a dealer visit.
