Removing the Air suspension - adding a coil-over system?

I’m not sure on the BDS system but you will need to have the sales codes removed for the factory air suspension system or you will continually get faults from it once it is removed.

    2014 TPMS Question

Thanks for all the replies. The Alfa OBD seems like a good tool and decent price. I’ll have to try and get the 4 digit PIN number from parts first as that will be the hardest part I imagine. Once I have that I will go ahead.

    2014 TPMS Question

i have a 2014 Outdoorsman that I bought new in March 2015. It is a Canadian truck, serviced in Canada, and driven in Canada although I don’t think it makes much of a difference for the TPMS. The truckcsme with LT tires and the TPMS is set at 43lbs and comes on at -20% like it should. I’ve...

    Diesel vs gasser differences

Maybe it is the axle half shafts going from the hubs to the front diff? They would spin all the time though but only be engaged in the 4x4 modes.

Have you added any aftermarket electrical items to your truck? Dash Cam, stereo amp, light bar, etc?

    Slide in Camper

For a slide in camper you are really looking for a 2500 Gas or 3500 Diesel. There is t nearly enough payload in a 1500 for one.

Engine and coolant temp don't read below 100degF?

I have a 2014 with the 7” EVIC and it shows me the actual temperatures. I can see the oil and coolant being close to the outside air temperature when I start the truck. It will even show me the negative numbers.

    4x4 question

4x4 Lock can be used as long as the road is snow covered. That transfer case is the part time one that has no Auto or AWD setting. I have the same one and just go in and out of Lock as needed when we have snow.

    Class III Front Receiver Hitch

If it doesn’t push the air dam up under the bumper or you don’t have to cut anything it is going to hang down extremely low. Something that leaves the bumper intact but requires the air damn to be cut would be the best so it isn’t constantly banging into curbs and things.

    End of MaxCare lifetime warranty

Actually it doesn’t have to be covered by Mag-Moss and the maxcare are not covered by Mag-Moss. If you read the details of any ofe Maxcare “warranties they say any modification to the vehicle can cause the contract to be denied or even cancelled. In the Lifetime one I believe it even says tires...

    Rebuilt Title

A rebuilt title will make the resale next to nothing down the road. Unless you are going to keep it for a long time then I would walk away and save up for the model you want new. Or a used that hasn’t been in an accident.

    End of MaxCare lifetime warranty

Magnuson Moss doesn’t apply to extended warranties because they are technically defined as a service contract rather than an original factory warranty the car came with.

    Factory air suspension acting up

It’s not every truck. I have a 2014 and it has worked without issue every winter, including almost 3 solid weeks last January with -20F temperatures.

    Should I worry?

Probably be a good idea to get an alignment done after the rim is replaced. An impact hard enough to break a rim will definitely throw the alignment off.

Is this oil/filter combo going to help my hemi last?

How long do you want it to last? People get very involved in what oils and filters they use and be,I’ve that if they don’t use whatever brand they are using the engine will blow up in 20,000 miles. In the day and age, any modern engine will run for hundreds of thousands of miles just using the...

New Recall - 8 spd Rotary Shifter

You can ask that they don’t be done. If it is an actual safety recall I’m not sure if they are able to legally not do it if they are working on your truck, it if it is a campaign or tsb they should leave them alone if you tell them. If they do it against your instructions I am not sure there is...

3.6L WITH 8 SPEED... TOWING SUCKS!!

Running 2500-3000rpm isn’t going to hurt the engine any. It is a v6, it is going to take high rpm to make its power.

My update on the 32 gallon fuel tank re-calibration / re-programming!

There were two different autopark updates. U05 for the 2018s I believe and U07 for earlier years. U07 doesn’t appear to include the fuel level fix.

Do you drive in 4WD in winter?

Even without ABS, using the brakes To slow or stop doesn’t get better or worse being in 4WD, it is the same. The only situation where being in 4WD helps slowing down is with engine braking potentially. Since we are talking about over driving the conditions I would almost guarantee that pretty...

Do you drive in 4WD in winter?

How does it help you stop? It is not possible to increase the avaable traction from the tires to the road. Y being in 4WD. ABS will give the same amount of breaking force in rear wheel drive or 4WD.

Do you drive in 4WD in winter?

4WD doesn’t help with stopping at all and only very minimally for turning, it just helps you get going from a stop. If you need 4WD on the highway then you are driving way too fast for the conditions.

    Autopark while backing (too fast)

Don’t ever take the truck out on the road and have one of those buckled in or the seat belt behind you. If you were on the road and forgot to take it out and had an accident the truck will deploy the airbags because it thinks you are buckled in. If the seatbelt is not buckled the airbags won’t...

    Strange noise in Reverse

    LT vs. P rated tires

If you are driving 2-3 times a week to go skiing in the winter I would get dedicated winter tires and then onxroad or all terrain tires for the rest of the year. Dedicated winter tires are Night and day better than all terrain or all weather tires, even ones that have the mountain snowflake...

New Recall - 8 spd Rotary Shifter

When my low fuel light came in today it said I had 46 miles to empty, the gauge was on E but it still only took 26 gallons of gas, so I had 6 gallons remaining. This is the same behavior I’ve had before the U07 update so I’m thinking U07 doesn’t include the fuel tank update but the U05 did.
