    I had a 3rd gen and now a 4th gen Ram, both with the 4.7. I normally pull around 5,000 lbs +. Biggest problem will be hills and head winds. Under those conditions I just shift to 4th gear.

    Only on one car many years ago. It was a drag racing Camaro. I kept smashing the roller bearings in the u-joints. I painted the driveshaft gloss black with a silver stripe down it so I see if it started to twist any. I used engine enamel. No balance problems.

    I tow about the same weight 5-6000 lbs. I have BFG KO's with 45 lbs. no balance problems. Yeah ride suffers some but that comes with the territory. As far a vague steering, Do you have a weight distributing hitch?
