Please help with this grinding noise problem.

Thank you for the follow-up on resolving the issue. I'm about to tear into mine as well, but the groaning sound is definitely from the front and goes away if I turn right, but gets louder as I turn left. Straight line sounds like what you described. If replacing the bearing hubs doesn't fix it...

mopar rear wheel well liner, anybody have them installed?

Mine from a local dealership was right around $100 when I bought them last summer. They should've been there from the factory, but I guess if they're gonna cut corners to save a dollar or two, I'd rather they do it on stuff like this and NOT on more important things! I decided to get them...

    Power Wire install

I thought the O2 sensors would eventually over-rule the power wire mod once the engine reached operating temperature and the fuel trims had been re-calibrated after the PCM reset. The only time the power wire would continue to fool the PCM to add more fuel would be when the engine is still...

    what a dilema

The tires I have on mine are Fuzion XTI 315/70r17 and they fit great; no rubbing or fitment issues. All of the pictures in this link are with these tires. They were on it when I bought the truck. 2005 HEMI pictures by ron333 - Photobucket

oil filters useage on the Rams

I use the FL-1A on mine as well as on the '96 5.9L I sold last summer. I haven't read any negative reviews on it, and I like the larger amount of filtration area it provides as compared to what is originally called for. It is more common than you think to do this. I got the idea on one of the...

What can I use to quiet the road noise?

I have a cheap alternative to Dynomat that I have used with quite a bit of success. I got some stuff from Lowes called "Peel and Seal" which appears very similar to Dynomat, but much less expensive! I used it on my 2nd Gen I had and it took all of the tinny sound out of my doors. I also used it...

    muffler, what to get?

Why would you buy the si/do if you're gonna just combine the dual outs to a single pipe? You of course can do that, I just don't understand why you would do it like this... it'll cost more this way. To answer the y-pipe question, there is no "reverse y-pipe" specifically. A y-pipe is...

Thanks To RF I Took em Off.

I uploaded a few pictures to a new album on here; the only album on my profile. Hopefully they will help show what I was trying to describe on the measurements as well as a better idea what they look like on the truck.

Thanks To RF I Took em Off.

Sorry for the delay... too many interruptions and not enough "play time." :) I tried to measure the total amount of back-spacing of the rim while on the truck, and I failed to get anything accurate. I cannot say for sure on the total offset amount, but this is what I have measured so far: from...

Super chips tune= drop in mpg...???!!!

When were the spark plugs changed last? Could they be worn enough to make a difference here?

    A dumb question....

Perhaps your low-end torque, and the eardrums of the people behind you... :) Seriously thought, what do you mean by "straight pipe?" Are you just wanting to remove the muffler, or the cat(s) and muffler, and/or any resonators that came from the factory?

Thanks To RF I Took em Off.

I'll try to get this info for you tomorrow. The rims and tires were on the truck when I bought it.

How close are those pipe openings to the rear axle? Are they far enough away or angled down enough to keep from heating the brake line I see in the pic? I had that issue on my last truck, but caught my mistake before it caused any problems. I bet it does sound good that way!

will a tuner give me power in the lower RPM?

Like me, you could do both... :peace: This option will be expensive, but very effective. Don't worry though, a good tuner will give you plenty to smile about!

will a tuner give me power in the lower RPM?

I realize that I have a 5.7 and yours is the 4.7 engine, but I can tell you that the programmer will DEFINITELY give better low-end performance. As to exactly how much, I cannot say since I never had mine dyno'd but there's no question that my SC-3865 made a HUGE difference in how my truck pulls...

Need a name for my Truck.

03 hemi tow rig gear suggestion

I would highly suggest 4.56 gearing. If the size of your stock 20's is 275/60-20 then that tire should be 33" tall. I have 4.56 gears on mine with 315/70-17 tires which are supposed to be 34.4" tires (measure 33" while on the truck) and my rpms at 70mph in OD are right at 2,200. The funny thing...
