My brakes are singing especially the rears.
There is plenty of material left but its very old and brittle.
It'd probably be in my best interest to just start fresh with new hardware, shoes, drums and wheel cylinders.
Do you guys have any recommendations for replacement parts?
Anyone used...
Sure Power 120 Amp Multi-Battery Isolator - (Part#: 12023A)
This is the isolator I have.
I figure it's just better to eliminate as many possiblities as possible. And it won't really need to be used until I need a new battery and will just buy two. I imagine it's constantly trying to charge the...
Havent been getting any codes although I havent actually checked while the problem is happening. I think what I will do is unhook the 2nd battery and isolator and run it like normal and see if that works until I am ready for a new dual setup.
What should my positive wire routing look like...
I really do like how the fusion is "low profile" in every way. Some of their gallery pictures make them look a lot bulkier than they actually are. Color combinations I think. Maybe I'll give them another shot. A co worker here at the shop ordered one for his 4th gen so I will check his out and...
Yeah I am liking the TrailReady the best so far. The ARB is nice too. Not a fan of fusion's design. Bumper superstore only has the ADD and the rest are kinda goofy. I like the Road Armor though. I just think the 2nd gen market isn't as big.
Thanks for the list though I am going to check them...
I'm looking for a high clearance front bumper with a winch mount. Something a long the lines of the attached picture. I'm having trouble finding much outside of iron cross or ARB.
Any suggestions other than having one made? (Which I fully understand that may be the only option.)
Thanks!
I've got 285/75r16s on my stock wheels and stock height. Only rubs a tiny bit at full lock. I suspect on the fender liner. Happens so infrequently i haven't bothered to look.
I'm not real positive. I checked all the lines over real quick and they seemed fine. not much free time these days. Just had a minute in the parking lot at work. Haha
Should I just spray some starting fluid or something on the fittings and look for idle surge?
That's what I thought too until the noise didn't change when I removed the airhat. Lol Putting my hand over the top of the bare throttle body makes it sound different. Maybe its just the throttle body mounting gasket.
Got a whistling noise that sounds like its coming right up through the throttle body. highest pitch at idle and gets lower until about 40% throttle or so then goes away. Pretty confident that points to vacuum.
Co worker looked down throttle body and said he saw oil pooling in the bottom of the...
I've got a non sport model and looking for better night vision. Are OE housings with brighter bulbs the way to go? All the reviews on the aftermarket lamps I've read were pretty negative. I was thinking of just restoring my lenses and getting some LED bulbs.
I believe heavier duty rear springs were installed on my truck when it was with the Forest Service making the rear of the truck sit way higher. 2001 4wd 1500 5.9. Think I could take the rear block out and cut the extra length off of my u-bolts? Or are the center pins different sizes?
Well the most responsible thing would be to get new shafts both 1 piece and then get a free wheeling manual hub conversion. a lot of money to spend on a 44 though.
probably close to $3,000 in parts. haha
I have read that it is recommended to replace the cat and front oxygen sensor after having the plenum gasket fail from the oil burning.
I have bought a new oxygen sensor and I also got a summit cheapie 3" cat back exhaust. I live in an area that doesn't do emission testing or inspections for...
2001 1500 5.9 V8
I notice quite a bit of dimming from all my lights when I'm driving at night.
If I drive without headlights on my volt meter pegs out in 10 minutes or so and causes the "check gauges" MIL to come on.
If my headlights AND a/c are on, the volt meter dumps to nothing and...
