For the trouble you go through to replace pins on a 2nd gen, you're better off getting new hinges. Mine needs new hinges on the driver side, but I am holding out as long as I can stand it. At least my truck is ugly on the outside and has kind of a "farm truck" vibe so the popping and squeaking...
I was never a fan of the halos so I had projectors without the halos. The halos I have seen are not very bright, but are good enough for someone else to see you coming, which is the point of a DRL.

Check the service manual in this thread. There is a diagram in there that shows you where every ground is. There is a lot to go through, but it's there.
Yes, that would be the 3.55. If everything is original you can also look on the sticker under the hood. Right by the latch there is a basic options list that will show the factory equipped differentials.
They are all the same except for the 99-01/02 sport model. Those are easy to tell apart because they have a clear lens and 2 bulbs in each housing. If you have the sport model you are better off keeping what you have. No aftermarket headlamp will give you better output. I've tried pretty much...
What he said. You need a proper relay harness and you need to have separate control over the pods. They are illegal in most areas to run on the highway anyway.
I have the Pacesetter long tubes and their 3" y-pipe into a single Flowmaster Super 40 and it definitely has a nice, deep rumble. I get compliments on it all the time. I also don't have a cat, but a high flow cat if you have to have it won't change the sound much.
Good to know the diesel guys are still covered! Unfortunately everything for the gassers was discontinued years ago (or so I was told by my local dealer)
The cab itself is the same afaik. Interior threaded inserts for mounting certain things could be different, and you will definitely have to swap the wiring harness and dash over.
Custom brackets required, the 2500 and up is what you want. The brackets are pretty easy to come across if you do some searching. As you said it has become a popular conversion. My only gripe is that without a lot of custom work it will always be a 50-footer. It fits well enough, but there are...
Honestly nothing you can do with chrome except strip it and paint it or have it re-chromed. It's actually a metal plating not a coating so you will only ever slow down the flaking if that. Corrosion getting under the plating is generally the cause.
The switch doesn't exist aftermarket and the chances of finding a new in box mopar replacement are pretty much zilch. Plenty of used switches out there and they fit all 2nd gen rams and I think Dakotas and Durangos as well.
Just want to throw this out there for anyone with a 94-98 having problems with the check valve for their A/C vents.
For those who aren't aware there is a check valve on the vacuum lines under the hood which leads into the cab to control the ac vents. This valve failing is a very common issue...
Sounds like it may be in the diff. Possibly pinion bearing. I would have an off road shop or transmission shop check it out. Sometimes it's worth paying someone else diagnostic to get an expert analysis even if you plan on repairing it yourself.
Not sure if the front doors are different or not, but not all were Quad Cabs. Some were extended cabs with only 1 half door. I could be partly wrong. I'm sure someone else will chime in.
True duals are difficult on trucks like this due to lack of space, but it can be done. As for the error codes there are several solutions as long as you don't have to worry about a tamper inspection. O2 simulators are one option, or you can get non foulers. The latter basically just pulls the...
Your problem will be the difference between a 95 and a 00, not the engine. The mechanical differences between the two are minimal. The complete interior and all of the electrical are different between the two.
That's pretty much the only upgrade for 2nd gens. I went with PowerStop's towing kit and it has been great. Be sure to replace your hoses, too. They deteriorate from the inside and you can loose pedal feel as they age. The other upgrade would be using GM 1-ton wheel cylinders in the rear (late...
I am wanting to do this to my dad's truck as well. There is not likely going to be a walkthrough on it, just have to read the wiring diagrams and change the connector.
