    Looking for a wheel hub for a '85 W150

Hey all. Looking for a front wheel hub for an '85 W150 with a Dana 44-8F. I've searched high and low without any luck. My old one basically warped and the warn locking hub assembly would not come out. I had to drill it out to access the axle and wheel bearings. Drilling the locking hub...

I'm about to give in. Lots of smoke, engine dies at idle, only had truck a few weeks.

The previous owner installed an edelbrock 1406 with an electric choke. The choke has no positive power going to it, the only wire on it is from the negative terminal to ground. I always thought that there was no need for a choke in hot weather (I live in the south). Is this not true? Also...

I'm about to give in. Lots of smoke, engine dies at idle, only had truck a few weeks.

I’m about to give up. I bought a 1985 Dodge W150 (318) about three weeks ago. I drove it home from the sales yard and it ran just fine for that four-hour trip. Over the past few days, I’ve been doing some simple maintenance on it. Here’s what I’ve done: DAY 1: Cleaned up the wiring with...

1985 W150 fuel line too close to exhaust? Vapor lock? Fire?

I rewired the pump, hooked the power up to the alternator, and grounded it on the chassis. It works now. After considering your comment, I'm going to bypass the electric pump and just run the mechanical. No sense in having both, and I want to cut back on having parts that could fail. Thanks...

1985 W150 fuel line too close to exhaust? Vapor lock? Fire?

Okay, thanks for the information. I traced back the fuel line to see what the problem was, and I think I've figured it out. Back when she would start up, I would hear a faint humming when I turned the key. When I turn the key now, I don't hear that humming sound and she wont turn over. She...

    Wheel bearing or something else?

I've noticed over the past week or so that my front left wheel sounds like it's grinding on something. The grinding is not constant, but is more intermittent and it increases in volume and frequency the faster I drive. My best way to describe it...

    mad leaning

Late to the party, but I have the same issue and did a lot of research on it. What I've learned is that it is "normal" for the driver's side to be lower than the passenger side. When these trucks were designed, they put all of the heavier components on the driver's side for some strange reason...

1985 W150 fuel line too close to exhaust? Vapor lock? Fire?

The return line has been disconnected and plugged before she quit on me. As for the proximity of the fuel line to the exhaust manifold, here is a picture of what I mean: . Here is a link in case my IMG formatting is off: http://imgur.com/5KNMvUU Is that too close? I've noticed a large air...

1985 W150 fuel line too close to exhaust? Vapor lock? Fire?

Strap in ladies and gents, this is a long one from a novice. For clarification, I drive a 1985 Dodge W150, 5.2L (318), 3-speed auto, 30 gallon tank, Edelbrock Performer intake manifold, and Edelbrock 1406 carb. I think my fuel line is in a bad spot. The fuel tank is on the left side of the...

1985 W150 repairs. Am I getting ripped off?

Just bought the truck, and it needs the following: (1) new front rotors and pads, (2) new rear drums and shoes, (3) alignment (4x4), and (4) new seal at the transfer case rear output shaft. Pepboys quoted me at $982 for all of this, excluding the seal replacement. I asked for a...

    Newbie oil change question.

I'm in a 1985 w150 with the 318. I bought it after it had some work done on it, and I can't find the engine oil filler cap. Is it the cap on the passenger side valve cover? Will I be pouring oil directly into the valve cover? Sorry for the dumb question but l want to make sure I do this right.

Just bought an '85 W150. Needs work and looking for advice.

Hey all. I just picked up a 1985 Dodge W150 Power Ram Royal SE. It's got ~173,000 miles, a 318, 3 speed auto, 4x4 on the floor, and has a 4" Rough County lift. It's got a handful of problems and I'd like some advice on how to go about fixing her up. Here are my issues: 1. The Oil Pressure...
