Best Shock?
Does anyone know of a place where you can get pre built struts that have new Moog coil springs. Not the quick lift ones or anything because I already put an HBS leveling kit under the front end. So far I've found one place local that can get me new struts built but only with Monroe gas magnums...- JiB-z

Lucas Oil Synthetic Oil Stabilizer
I thought the PCV valve was for ventilation not oil drinking. I use Pennzoil and it doesn't burn barley anything. I don't know if I trust some of the stuff Bob the oil guy says because of the whole Lucas oil stabilizer thing with straight stabilizer and said it would foam in your engine. I...- JiB-z

If mine would burn a quart in 1000 miles I would pull that motor in a heartbeat. Mine doesn't even burn half a quart in 10000 miles. What kind of blow by would they be talking about? Rings or gaskets? I don't think a motor should burn barely anything, but what do I know? I also think you can...- JiB-z

It shouldn't matter if you switched it to synthetic because it should have came from the factory with synthetic from the factory. That would mean you have a seal problem somewhere. Of course it is a Chevy.- JiB-z

Detailing 102

Finally replaced the oil at 100,000 miles. Did it immediately after arriving at home to see it there was any foam in the hot oil. There was no foam whatsoever. The stabilizer did assist with cold starts since it's getting into the winter months in PA. It also extended the life of the oil...- JiB-z

What MPG?
If you have a choice in a choice in engine and gear try to find a Hemi with a 3.92 ratio. I have a 2006 1500 and when I got it it was pulling 8 city and 13-14 highway. Meguiar's detailing
I use everything Meguiars except wax. I use Collinites #845 since its an industrial pure carnauba wax that lasts for about 10 washes. Meguiars is like Lucas Oil, everyone that doesn't use it says it will destroy what its supposed to help and they people that use it say its the greatest thing... -

My truck has surpassed the 100,000 mile mark and I am looking into buying new shocks for it later next year and am wondering what is the best shock. Does anyone use their in floor bins?
Some of those are so high you have to have a speaker that is set in or else it will get crushed when someone sits in the seat. -

Detailing: Favorite Wheel/Tire Cleaner
The best pre-cleaner is a little Tornado 50. Takes brake dust and road grime right off the rims and sidewalls. -

You should take the back of your hand and rub it lightly on the paint. If its smooth as glass then you dont need to claybar. All the claybar does is remove contaminants from the clear coat. If its taking paint off then you should take it back to the dealer because there isn't any clear coat... -
Removing light scratches from tree branches??
If it isn't through the clear coat get a little 3M rubbing compound (a little on the expensive side) Will buff out any scratches but must be used sparingly because it tears the clear coat a new one. Rubbing compound will take anything out of the clearcoat. -

what oil are yall running?
You don't really need a high viscosity oil even in a second gen. The higher the viscosity the slower the engine spins due to windage and pressure. The rule of thumb is you only need 10 psi at every thousand rpm so if you spin 6000 you only need 60 psi at that point.- JiB-z

Every time we tear down and the ones that have been run with Pennzoil always have the least amount of wear.
