    Where does a cluster get it's information from?

    I did this exact swap on my 2016 when my truck has 4000 miles on it. The truck that I took the new cluster off only had 1000 miles on it and when I plugged in the new cluster my truck showed the new 1000 miles. The miles are stored in the cluster itself.

    New Ram Mods

    That is not true. I installed an upgraded "premium" cluster on my 2016 Ram and it showed different miles then the one I took out. The one I took out had 3500 miles and the new one has 100. My odometer only displayed to new 100 miles.
