Of course the shop manual for my 2011 highlights the use of Bosch CAN specification 2.0b but some genius thought that information wasn't relevant when they wrote the version covering the facelifted version of these trucks. The successor to CAN C was CAN FD which of course launched in 2012... -

AITA? Checked the window sticker — 35 gallons. Now I’m not sure why I was so confident it was a 32 gallon tank. Well ****, I just added 30 miles to my driving range- jlb

I don’t typically run that low — the 31.6 fillup was a rare instance and with the one from the photo above I missed the turn for the gas station I intended and a quick google check indicated I could make it. I usually like to run no lower than a quarter tank. Definitely would prefer to not...- jlb

I have a 32 gallon tank — 3500, 8ft bed, crew cab diesel. Is this gas station ripping people off? I’ve run pretty low (15 miles past “Low Fuel”), much more sketchy than this fill up where the DTE gauge had just switched to “Low Fuel” and never put more than 31.6 gallons in this thing.- jlb

Howling noise - Speed proportional
Just to close out for anyone who finds this in the future, it was indeed the driveshaft carrier bearing making the noise. You can squirt a bit of lube in there and go for a drive to see if the noise cleans up temporarily just to confirm.- jlb

Winch mount
In my experience they also tend to be mounted pretty low which isn't ideal. Sounds like you need an aftermarket bumper. :)- jlb

Winch mount
I personally use a HD bumper with an integrated receiver hitch. I only throw on the winch if I'm going somewhere I think I'd need it. I also have a cover for my winch. I actually imagine that the power wagon winch is probably more exposed than my covered winch and harder to clean -- but...- jlb

What does the inside of the AAM cover look like? I just ordered a Banks cover. All their marketing material sold me vs the flatback covers, although if the AAM cover had a drain plug I would have bough it instead!- jlb

2018 3500 Tie rod end failure
Do you ever turn at full lock...? I'll usually find full lock gently then back off it just a hair when I'm trying to turn tightly. Some people will ride the stoppers hard, sometimes you can hear their power steering pumps crying in agony. Riding full lock hard could have created stress over...- jlb

Howling noise - Speed proportional
I have a howling noise coming from the rear portion of my truck that is proportional with speed and starts as low as ~10mph. I checked the rear axle lube, full. Then I put the truck up on stands and idled in 6th while listening around. I can’t quite tell if it’s coming from the transfer case...- jlb

Thanks for the responses guys. I know the diesel market got a bit tougher in the last few years. I don't even blame the EPA really... I blame all the a**holes who think rolling coal is cool. Wasteful bums drew lots of attention to these motors.- jlb

Who are the reputable tuners doing custom tuning with EFILive for the 6.7? I'm planning a delete and would prefer not to go with H&S. Also, I already have a couple EFILive handhelds (including an unlocked one) and I'm familiar with the software, so was hoping to stick with them. Thanks!- jlb
