    13' Ram vs. 14' Silverado

I'm not really brand biased, but I worked at a Ford dealer and owned some Ford's that were giant POS's. I felt like I was making weekly trips to the service department. As for trucks, give me a pushrod V8 like Ram and GM, I don't want a twin turbo V6, can't imagine the reliabilty will be good...

    13' Ram vs. 14' Silverado

Points 1 and 2 are absolutely incorrect. You have a choice of 18, 20, or 22 inch wheels with any engine combo. You can get the max trailering package with the 5.3 or 6.2 in 2014. As for price, yeah, they're expensive. I get a GM supplier discount from my job, and I don't get any discount for...

    13' Ram vs. 14' Silverado

The Hemi does have more go than the new 5.3. It feels like the computer is really holding it back with TM and MPG's as the priority. The last gen 5.3's run like a raped ape with a tune and some simple mods.

8" touchscreen with Pandora and other apps. Large HD color customizable DIC. They changed things up for 2014. You're talking to someone that had 3 Ram's in a row.

    13' Ram vs. 14' Silverado

If you have the 65rfe or 545rfe, the GM trans (6L80E) with 3.08 gears has a mechanical advantage in 1st through 4th over your truck with 3.55 gears, plus it has a real 3rd gear, not 2nd'. I did the math since my Ram had 3.55's. Insert the available 3.42's or 3.73's and this really changes...

    13' Ram vs. 14' Silverado

The transmission is definitely tuned for mpg's, and the throttle has a soft tip in all for the CAFE BS. My Ram felt like a hot rod, the new truck feels like a Cadillac. Nice thing about GM's is the computer isn't encrypted, HP tuners or EFI live and a laptop is all you need. Diablo and...

    13' Ram vs. 14' Silverado

Believe it. I averaged 13 with my Ram lifetime, I have a short 4 mile drive to work and my Ram was a RCSB. I'm averaging 18 with my Silverado which is a crew cab 4x4. Did a few long highway trips and averaged 23+. The Hemi was a stronger motor than the 5.3, more of a hot rod, but the...

    13' Ram vs. 14' Silverado

Most are 3.42's. They have 3.73's as well. They make up for it with really low 1st and 2nd gear ratios.

That would make a big difference on the highway.

    driving in tow/haul mode

Actually, if you read the manual they recommend it when driving hilly roads.

Only disadvantage is worse fuel mileage.

    Hemi Fuel Economy.

Mine was horrible, one of the reasons I didn't stick with Ram. 2012 5.7 65RFE 3.55 RCSB 4x4. Averaged about 14 mpg's over it's lifetime. Did an 800 mile round trip once and got 18 mpg's.

    4th Gen 1500 Hemi vs F150

It seems every Ford truck motor over the last 15 years has some type of design flaw. From the spark plugs that would self eject, to the two piece spark plugs wouldn't come out, to the Ecoboost intercooler condensation issue. They build a solid quality truck, but always seem to lag behind in...

    4th Gen 1500 Hemi vs F150

If that's the case get the Ram. The 5.4's are turds.

    P.I.T.A Repairs!

Is it just me, or has the number of problems grown exponentially with the 2013 Model? I don't remember seeing this many problem posts when I joined here after buying the 2012.

    new truck 1500 vs 2500?

Yes, especially if you get a travel trailer. Beware of the low payloads on the 1500, which will effect how much you can tow due to tongue weights. Keep in mind, whatever payload your truck says (900-1000lbs), includes weight on the hitch, which could be around 600lbs, you, your passengers, and...

    66RFE 1st 3.231:1 2nd 1.837:1 3rd 1.410:1 4th 1.000:1 5th 0.816:1 6th 0.625:1 Reverse 4.444:1 I'd take those gear ratios any day as long as the trans is stronger.

I thought they were properly spaced gear ratios on the 66rfe, instead of a 3-speed with two OD gears and a kickdown gear.

    2013 Laramie vs Ford Lariat/Platinum

100%, although I'm not a fan of my V8's having 4 camshafts and 12 feet of timing chains, I would take one of the Ford V8's over the Ecoboost. It's a good idea but not without it's share of problems. If you live in a humid area the intercooler fills up with water and it studders and sometimes...

I've been reading about that, since Arrington has full access to the ECU I bet they can tune it.

    Acceleration

So far so good, I've had it a month now. I got a better deal on it than the dodge dealer wanted to give me, plus supplier pricing helped. The interior is really nice and everything's layed out well when your driving it. I didn't get an LTZ, but the LT is well optioned.

Mine treated me well, you'll like it. I just needed a crew cab and wanted to give one of the new GM 14's a shot.
