My dealer swapped my front bumper with a truck on the lot after I discovered a buffer burn the size of a half dollar on it. I understand this was not possible in your case, but maybe the dealer can order a truck in your color and swap your bumper with the new truck's bumper when it arrives.
I'm in the same boat as the OP. I was in contact with AutoNation CDJR Houston. I did text the salesman on Tuesday, but I wasn't going to ask him about the truck, not after what they must've gone through. He voluntarily mentioned that he believes that the truck was moved into the body shop...
The Carven Progressive sounds great. Sadly, I am experiencing some drone between 1500-1700 rpm. 3.21's and stock tires puts me around 70ish - 77ish mph in 8th gear. It's not unbearable, but it's definitely noticeable.
I installed my Bils (2.8) about 8 months ago (roughly 6k miles). Definitely a more solid, planted ride when compared to the stocks. I can feel the bumps a bit more, but I like the fact that the bounce/float feeling of the stockers is gone. Also, I don't bottom out on the huge speed bumps in my...
It's a great engine; I miss my 16' 2500 most on road trips. My current Hemi/8 speed truck is great but it definitely is not the same. Not having a diesel truck is proving to be much more difficult than I anticipated. Even the wife misses it.
Congrats on your truck.
Very nice! Congrats! Granite Crystal Metallic is my favorite color.
The Bilsteins will vastly improve the already good ride.
Thank you for your service and welcome home.
In my case, the Bilsteins have made my truck feel more planted and well behaved as the "street princess" that she is.
The OEM shock is simply not designed for a truck, let alone a spacer. The OEM shocks would bottom out easily and were bouncy. Any bump in the road at highway speeds would...
Poor guy, he ran the engine with double the recommended oil capacity and an empty transmission/converter.
Probably just too embarrassed to post here again after that mistake.
Hope no major damage was caused.
I had the same feelings with mine.
Then again, I was very discontent with the "softer" more bouncy ride of the stock front shocks; the Bilsteins were considered a must-do modification.
So at under 4k miles and with less than 7 months of ownership, the new shocks and rear spacers had to go...
After owning a god-awful 68rfe - equipped vehicle, I love the ZF.
The grade-downshifting is what I am mostly impressed with, although the snappy and crisp heavy footed upshifts are nice also.
IMO it's the Allison of the 1/2 ton segment.
Good video except for the part where they put the washer on top of the top mount strut plate. I believe it was addressed in the comments.
Washer first!
