    On with the new.

    was time for tires again.

I decided to go with more of an all terrain tread this time around. I seem to be spending more time on the pavement these days, so I'm hoping these won't wear down quite as quickly as the MT's did. And of course, because I'm a cheap @$$, I dug out the tire irons, and changed them out myself...

    rear turn signal wiring question

Thanks for the info. Yep, it’s odd for sure. With it hooked up, when I activate a turn signal, the sequential starts at the center, and lights up about 1/4 of the way across, then goes out. With it hooked up to a bench top power supply, and a constant 12v applied, it flashes all the way across...

    rear turn signal wiring question

The bar is a semi-flexible, mounts with adhesive foam tape, and does not have reverse. It most likely came from Amazon, and was probably at the cheaper end of the price spectrum. I already have the Curt adapter, and a plug to add to the bar(it did not have a plug installed). Anyone know how...

    rear turn signal wiring question

got one of those tail gate light bars for Christmas. It has sequential turn signals built into the bar, and requires a constant power for the turn signals to work. So, I need a way to provide two separate constant positive feeds to the light bar, that are energized when the normal turn signals...

4 inch lift, how high is your ram?

Even on two similar trucks(1500, crew cab, 4x4 for example) right off of the lot, the height can be several inches different.

    Abs light

the video you posted, as well as others I have found online, show how to test the sensor. I have new, tested and confirmed good, sensors at all 4 corners. I suspect the issue is somewhere inside the wire harness between the rear of the truck, and the module. I would need to find the correct...

    Abs light

Mine does that too, however, without resetting the module, the code will be stored, and the light will come back on much sooner. Does yours "surge" while driving down the highway? If I'm driving down the highway when mine acts up, the traction control light will flash, and the throttle will cut...

    Abs light

Welcome to my world. [emoji106] I’ve narrowed my issue down to either the abs module, or the wiring for the right rear sensor. The fact that the only sensor I’m getting a fault code for, is the right rear, I’m leaning more towards a wiring issue. Since I don’t feel like pulling the bed off and...

    Rough Country 6" 'wheel clarification'

This pic is with a 2” spacer, same wheels and tires though. With the correct back spacing, I don’t see any reason why you couldn’t run a 17” wheel. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Rough Country 6" 'wheel clarification'

Not sure if this will be helpful or not, but here’s a pic of mine. 4”RC lift, stock 20” rims, and 35x12.50’s. The first pic is with a 1/4” wheel spacer installed. Without the spacer, the tire was rubbing on the knuckle. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    BALANCING BEADS

It could be a situation where they either put to much, or not enough beads in the tires. In my research, I found that in order for the beads to work well, you have to have just the right amount. Not enough weight/beads can be just as bad as too much weight/beads. Also, the orientation of the...

    Abs light

not sure what exactly you are asking here? On my 2012 though, there are two tone rings, one on each wheel. They are on the axle shaft, just behind the flange.

    BALANCING BEADS

Technically, using beads or the powder stuff(think it's called equal) is "dynamic" balancing. the trucking industry has been using balancing powders and beads for quite a while with great success. My truck is my daily driver, about 90% of my driving is on highways at around 60mph. Even at...

    BALANCING BEADS

I’ve been using air soft BB’s in my 35’s for the last two years, and am planning to put them in the tires on my wife’s jeep as soon as I get some free time. I went with the air soft beads originally as an experiment, just to see if they would work. Local shops couldn’t balance the 35’s I put...

    Abs light

To add to what WireEd said, if you have a 4x4 with the 44-44 case (auto4x4 option), you will most likely also get a “service 4x4” light. When that happens, the transfer case will not send any power to the front wheels, regardless of which drive mode is selected. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Abs light

Been dealing with the same issue for quite a while now on my 2012. Funny thing, my code is also for the right rear sensor. I’ve got new sensors all the way around, and have checked/cleaned all the plugs that are easily accessible, and still have the issue. Seems like my only other...

Service 4WD, ABS and traction control light issue

I guess this can be considered an update. My issue has not been resolved. All three lights will still come on randomly, and each time, the code is for erratic performance of the right rear wheel speed sensor. I have not yet had time to physically check all of the wiring between the ABS...

Just ordered rough country 4” lift

Just curious; What's not "proper" about the RC lifts? Just looking around a little bit, it looks like RC, as well as just about every other lift manufacturer, use the same approach to lifting the front of the 1500 rams. 1: drop the front dif and lower control arms with new crossmembers. 2...

    Adding Brake Line Extensions

usually there is enough "slack" in the hard lines (between the proportioning valve/abs unit, and frame) to allow for a body lift of 3" or less.

Just ordered rough country 4” lift

Guess I'm one of the lucky ones. (hope I didn't just jinx myself LOL) I bought my truck 5 years ago. I bought it used, with a rough country 4" lift already installed. It gets daily driven during the week (40 miles round trip, to and from work), and used on our small farm on the weekends. It...

Ordering MaxTrac lift kit... how to tell if I need Carrier Bearing or not?

wander if it was just crew cab + long bed trucks? Or maybe only certain years? Just like the "which trucks have steel vs aluminum drive shafts", I haven't been able to find anything definitive about which trucks got which configuration of drive shaft. My truck, which is a '12, crew cab, 5'-7"...

Ordering MaxTrac lift kit... how to tell if I need Carrier Bearing or not?

Didn't mean for my first comment to come across as being a smart ass; My apologies. Just wanted to see if there were any extenuating circumstances, that were preventing you from accessing the truck. It was also a place holder while I looked to see if there was any other way to determine which...

Ordering MaxTrac lift kit... how to tell if I need Carrier Bearing or not?

just for reference, one piece is on the top, two piece is on the bottom. one end will be attached to the transmission (T-case if 4x4), and the other end will be attached to the rear axle.
