I can hear a less aggressive version of it revving it in N in the driveway, and its only that severe on an overnight cold start. It isnt anywhere near as apparent after its been ran for a bit, but because i know what im listening for, i hear it very lightly still.

Have a look at the plug that goes into the actuator on the front axle. Took my truck in and they told me the plug end needed to be replaced. A little dielectric and some in out action on the plug and it was good to go. My assumption is that they didn't put any in there after replacing my actuator.
Yeah... I towed my Jeep(4300lbs) on a tandem axle trailer(1900lbs) 6200lbs total in my 5.7 1500 with the 8 speed and 3.21 gears, and aside from getting on the highway, it handled beautifully.
