60K maintenance question
Thanks all, I did bore scope the cylinder and they are nice. This engine is going in a 08 wrangler. And I'm all too familiar with the exhaust manifold bolt issue an my 11 has it now...- norville

60K maintenance question
Hey all, I picked up a 2010 5.7 vvt out of a Cherokee for a project, it has about 55K miles on it. Before I stab it in its new home, does the group have some thoughts on Items that I should be changing while its easy to access..?? It has a new power steering pump.... thanks bob- norville

Low velocity hvac
I picked up a bore scope and removed the fan. Scoping what I can see the evaporator is clean as a whistle..I can see though the core no problem. Is it just a crappy designed fan? It spins fine, and the motor is quiet, it just doesn't seem to put out the air like it sounds like it should... -

The fan spins fast and freely, the amount of air it sounds like it's pushing does not match up to what comes out the vents. Heats and cools well it's just takes forever. I can see the blend door actuator and it is moving correctly. So it comes back to my original suspicion of a clogged... -

Sorry 2011 no cabin filter. That next on my lost. I did lull out the fan and it spins well and fast. Is that maybe a better designed fan that can be slapped in? -

Summer is coming and I want to sort this out soon. Heat or A.C. the velocity of air flow out of the system is terrible. On high it's making a racket but not much comes out of the vents or floor or def. Now I've read that the condensers get clogged up with mud and it's a terrible pita to tear... -

1.5 inch hub centric spacers installed.
May I ask what size tires those are? I have an outdoosman with 20x8 stock wheels and 275's. they are tucked in a bit more than my liking. I was trying decide if I should pull off the factory flares or just add some spacers.. -

Heater vent doesn't seem to put out much air
This is the same problem on my 2011, it's worse in the summer , it gets hot in the cab. Some have suggested there is dirt/mud on the heater core or evaporator blocking flow.. Please let us know what you find... bob -

Where to start with Cigarette smells in hvac
I like ozium as a quick fix. Or rent or borrow an ozone generator that's what service shops use to kill smells. Runs the generator with the HVAC on full blast for a while. -

towing question
yep, the whole reason i ended with my ram was my 2003 avalanche(#7100 tow rating) was not up to the task of towing my #5500 dry weight TT.. I bought an '11 outdoorsman with 3.93 gears that is rated to tow #10,000. I'd say my Travel Trailer is pushing #6500+ with empty tanks. Crap adds up...- norville

3.21 vs 3.92
My 2011 CC 1500 has the 3.92, I drove the 3.21 also and both had a ton of power unladen but I have zero regrets on getting the 3.92's, especially when I haul the 30' Travel Trailer..- norville

thanks, I currently have a 3.25 in rake.. I like a little rake, no more than a 1" would be ideal. Do the Bilsteins settle down to 2.1 and 2.8 or do they start there??.. Trying to figure out which setting to go with...
