1998 Dodge Ram 1500 Military Flatbed

I own a 1998 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4, and I'm looking to add a flatbed to my truck. I wanted to use a military box from a trailer such as the m1101 for it. My main problem is the wheelbase difference of the short bed truck and the other military box. Is there another alternative to use, or would...

    Tube Bumper/ Steel Help

Ok, that answers that, I'll have to pool some cash to get sheet steel for it, but that can be put on after I finish the tubing. Thanks for the advice. (Off topic, looking at your Fuelly pic, how are you getting 11.5 mpg? I've got smaller tires than you and am only managing 8 mpg on a good day!)

    Tube Bumper/ Steel Help

Thanks for the tips. Plan on starting soon on the project (work 2 jobs, go to school, so I don't have lots of spare time). Do you think that 1/8in plate is strong enough for things such as winch mounts, skidplates, or tow points?

    Tube Bumper/ Steel Help

I own a 1998 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4. It's mostly stock, apart from what I believe is a 2 1/2'' lift done by a previous owner. I'm looking to make some tube bumpers for the truck front and rear, along with some rock sliders. I don't have a whole lot of experience welding, grinding, or designing...

    1998 Ram 1500 Overheating/Gremlins

Thanks for the help. I'll be putting in the thermostat when I get the money. Hopefully the truck will be running somewhere between 190 and 210 by the time this is done. Next step, tube bumpers and rock sliders!:happy107:

    1998 Ram 1500 Overheating/Gremlins

Thanks for the reply.:) The transmission fluid and filter were replaced before I got the truck. The bands were not adjusted in any way, so I may have to look into that more. It's the only time that it has happened, so it'll be on the back-burner for now. As far as the overheating goes, I put...

    1998 Ram 1500 Overheating/Gremlins

I have a 1998 Dodge Ram 1500 Laramie 4x4. It is my first 4x4 and I love it. Recently, I've been running into small gremlins with it. For example, I started the truck one afternoon and the transmission wouldn't fully go into gear. It's an automatic, and it's like it was stuck in between...
