    Well, no responses so far on the throttle body. Just picked up a used, low mileage ported throttle body so I'll replace my high mileage tb with the ported one. Also got a silly deal on a set of injectors, so I'll replace them at the same time. Fingers crossed.....

    Thanks for posting up....it's an option to get the existing injectors serviced once I come up with a period of time I can have the truck torn down.

    Just sharing a recent experience....cat burned up in a vehicle with 2 cats, similar to the HEMI powered Ram trucks. Bought a 'universal' replacement cat for $265 then, like you, figured...."Hell, an exhaust shop won't charge that much to install it". Turned out, $125 in labor, $22 in supplies...

    I'm in a similar boat with a higher mileage set of cats.....had this kit suggested as a Best Bang for the Buck replacement for the cats....as you also get a high flow Y Pipe and it's all bolt in. I'm pretty sure this is the right kit for your '02 1500 5.9L: Federal 23959 If you want 3" down...

    Were you able to replace the valve stem seals while you were in there replacing the springs?

    Just picked up a '04 2500 HD 5.7L 4x4 5sp w/211k miles on it. Truck had a cooked clutch and a pile of CEL codes so I got it for cheap. So far I've replaced the clutch, spark plugs, 4x O2 sensors, crank position sensor, water pump, battery, and knock sensors. Truck runs far better than it did...

    Happen to get this figured out? I recently picked up a '04 Ram 2500 5.7L that's doing pretty much what you described.
