I installed a new compressor and switches and everything works. Thanks . I found my issue with the wiring. Like an idiot I was in acc or on when I was checking voltages. When the engine is running the voltages were as expected. Just want to let you know your help was appreciated
As always thanks. I completely understand how frustrating it can be trying to explain it to a layman. I work with pools and pull my hair out trying to explain stuff
Pin 86 is connected to the hvac control, right? It appears to get and lose 12v with the ac
The relay works with battery...
Thanks for all the info. I have a few questions because I'm not sure what I'm doing.
If you remember my ac compressor is not coming on.
I jumped the compressor to the battery wand the clutch didn't engage so the clutch is shot.
My question is if remove the ac relay I have 13 v at the...
It just dawned on me that you said one side of of the compressor connector is ground so there should continuity to the frame. If I don't have that the compressor won't engage.
I know the truck is old and the connector is in a hot spot. I wonder if me jerking around broke the connector? So...
Thanks
I just went back out and no longer get any voltage on either pin on the compressor connection.
I tried jumping out everything kinda Willy nilly. I have 12 v at the ac compressor relay on the cool side. I jumped the load ( 30 and 87) but still no voltage at the compressor.
The...
My ac has never worked so I tested the pressures. 0! so I found the accumulator leaking and replaced it. I evacuated the system and began filling it but the compressor will not engage. If I disconnect the compressor plug on the supply side I have 0 volts between the pins but 13 v from one pin...
Maybe a vacuum leak which could be the intake plenum gasket. There is a test but I think if block off the the pcv and check the breather. It should be blowing if it's sucking then the gasket. Some report quarts of oil missing too.
Is this highway driving. Maybe it's not getting into o/d. The transmissions aren't great. And the torque converters aren't anything to brag about either. Mine won't go into od but doesn't always give me the 1740 code.
Not yet. Is there any recommended oil to use? I've heard use atf because it has a lot of cleaning agents, 20w-50 oil because it's thick and sea foam because breaks down carbon. Any recommendations?
Thanks for all the info. I was pretty happy with 1-7 getting around 140, except 5 which was 125,but 8 was 60. Ugh!
Not sure if it's a head issue or ring issue or if matters. I'll probably limp it along. I guess I'll fix the plenum so it runs as good as possible.
Any recommended long...
I have a 2001 5.9 with 167000. I need to replace the plenum gasket and valve seal seals because I'm burning oil. I'm sure the cat is probably clogged by now too. Not much in parts but hours of labor. The head gasket appears ok, at least passed the blue fluid test. Before I get started I'm...
Mine acted similarly. I found the "of spring" was broken. I ordered a kit from cascade transmission (spring and solenoid) and it solved the issue other than I get a 1740 code. Probably burned the clutches in the torque converter.
Good luck
I'm losing coolant. No drips or signs of a leak.
I feared a head gasket so I bought a chemical test kit and got nothing. I can smell coolant so I'm guessing the heater core? If it leaks where would I see it? Or would I see it? If I use a pressure test would that test the entire cooling system...
My 2001 front passenger wheel failed inspection. I have the bolts out but the hub is rusted in the knuckle. Any tricks to getting it out? Any recommendations for a replacement? Rock auto has timken on sale.
Sorry if this topic has been discussed a thousand times but I found nothing from a search. So why do the bottom of the doors rust? I'm guessing water gets trapped but the drains in the front and rear look fairly big.
Thanks for the safe advice. You're a life saver.
Now I don't have the eclip, phhhw. Do I have to worry about the neutral safety switch like 48re I saw on YouTube
I know there is a chance my torque converter clutches are worn. If this is the case would I see crap in the pan when I drop it?
Obviously I'm hoping it is a clogged filter or a bad solenoid. They are much cheaper and easier. But before I throw money and time at the solenoid I want to see if...
I just bought a 2001 5.9 off-road that has come with a 1740 code. I have found the code is tied to the tcc. For a few bucks I'll replace the filter, fluid and all the solenoid. My question is
What is the easiest way to replace the tcc/od solenoid? Should I remove the valve body or just the...
