    Camping 2024

We have about 10 trips scheduled this year already. Most are close to home (30-60 minutes) with about three further away (3.5 hours - that's usually the max I like to keep it at). We mostly stay at the campground when we go and just enjoy being outside and walking. Couple of the trips we'll go...

Hard time shifting from park in the mornings

Mine does it randomly and some weeks it's worse than others. It could be cold, it could be hot. It could be first thing in the morning or like today, after lunch. I think it's the interlock as @RamRod37 mentioned. I have to hit the brake, then release, then hit again or somewhat force it to...

    My Friends Sometimes....

My understanding is that in the goosneck frame bend, more physics contributed than just the loading issue. Apparently someone pulled out in front of them or braked hard causing the driver to slam on his brakes, which shifted the entire load quickly forward causing the frame to take the hit of...

    1/2 Ton Tow

I know this has been resolved, but it depends on the half ton... :D I had the unicorn 2006 5.7 1/2 ton mega cab (that was really a derated 3/4 ton) and pulled our 35 footer with absolutely no issues whatsoever. So, while technically a 1/2 ton, this was very much a different animal. I was way...

    Years to avoid/buy - 2500 for towing

Hills Green. It's factory color. I love it! :D It is bright, obnoxious to some, but I'm digging it.

    Years to avoid/buy - 2500 for towing

Agreed with what's been already said. With all that, I'll echo a couple of the comments. The 8 speed would be better but my '17 with 6 speed and 3.73 rears has been absolutely amazing even when towing our latest camper (8000#, 37' overall). Have been up in NC mountains and she's done exactly...

    Rare colors and production numbers

I love my Hills Green, and while not uncommon, it is not a huge production number from what I understand. I've never seen another one in person and definitely not around here. Also, if I'm not mistaken, RAM no longer offers it on the HD trucks starting this year. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong.

    35’s

Leveled on 35s. 1.5" level. No issues whatsoever.

Mona. Short for Limona (Icenlandic for Lime)

    6.4 Hemi or Cummins

I'll echo what others said. It's about price and use. I considered a diesel briefly but with a 4 mile commute and towing a few times a year when camping, gas made the most sense. I also, for whatever reason, really fell in the love with the idea of a 6.4 CCLB (though I really liked my Mega Cab)...

Magnaflow exhaust installed and I like...

Wanted just a little more rumble but nothing that would make my neighbors hate me. The direct fit/swap Magnaflow 19493 was just right. Under normal circumstances it would be a 30-60 minute job but mine didn't want to go without a fight. Had to cut brackets off as the nuts wouldn't budge (darn...

    Fog + morning + truck = mood

Thanks guys. Yes, some distortion (wide angle lens, not pano) which I probably should've fixed, but I still like. :)

    1/2 ton to 3/4 ton towing.....worth it?

For what it's worth, I just came back from a weekend of towing with our new to us 3/4 ton 2500 with the 6.4 HEMI. Old truck was an 06 Mega Cab 1/2 (sorta) with the 5.7 HEMI. Old one did great - I've never had sway issues, no wagging - probably due to long wheelbase, almost 3/4 ton rating on back...

    Is this truck lifted?

Yes, that is correct. The blue is the plastic sleeve/cover for the Bilsteins. Today I attempted to paint the covers green to match the truck. That plastic is so shiny and finicky that even the spray paint with primer built in wouldn't adhere. I'll have to find some other paint and use a brush...

    Is this truck lifted?

It looks nice and tight but agree that they got sloppy on that shock cover. Did they cover something up? Well, I guess I'll find out sooner or later. :)

    Is this truck lifted?

Yes, I measured and it's a 2" spacer. I'm assuming on the rear it's not as high to be leveled?

    Is this truck lifted?

Quick backstory. Bought my dream truck and love everything about it. It's running 35x12.50x20 instead of the original 18s. I'm assuming what I'm seeing is a small lift as the tires don't rub at all (and my understanding is that 33s would be pushing it on stock suspension). I also know based on...

From 06 Mega Cab to 17 Hills Green 2500

Great minds think alike? ;) I considered the Cummins as I do pull a 32 footer travel trailer, but decided on my other favorite possibility, the 6.4. I'm very happy though I need to update my WDH shank as this one has a Class V hitch.

From 06 Mega Cab to 17 Hills Green 2500

While I liked my unicorn 1/2 ton rated, 2006 Mega Cab (if it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck, why is it not a duck?), I absolutely LOVE my new ride - 2017 2500 6.4 HEMI. I've driven her all over the place the last couple of days, finding ANY excuse to take her for a spin. I know the color...

    Missing Jack and tools

Mine was missing as well and didn't notice until a few days after I bought the truck. I ended up just buying a 3 ton jack w/ stand built-in and keep it behind rear seats. Much better than factory anyway. :D
