Vibration at 70 mph and above

March 22, 2020 VIBRATION FOUND! Turns out, the front driveshaft was not balanced correctly or is bent. Took front shaft off and ran the truck down the highway and had absolutely no vibration, even up to 95mph. Now to find a driveshaft shop around Springfield, IL that hasn't gone out of business...

Vibration at 70 mph and above

Update on my issue. I will be replacing the rear output housing bushing for the transfer case within the next few days to try to correct this vibration issue. I pulled the rear driveshaft so I could grease the u-joints and noticed the slip yolk had some play in it while still in the transfer...

    Unsolved Issue

I have the same issue with my 06 2500 diesel. Been dealing with it for 2 years now. Replaced ALL steering components, wheel bearing assembly's, new tires and rims road force balanced, new front drive shaft, new u joints on rear driveshaft, rear driveshaft balanced (which was not out of balance)...

    stretched tires

If you want to replace your tie rod ends and ball joints every 2 to 3 years, go ahead and do it. IMHO, it is a dangerous thing to do. Steering will be affected (groves in the road will pull the truck to one side or the other) and it is very rough on the steering components.

    Bed Management

I like to use a larger cooler for the cold items and as mentioned before, a larger plastic tote for the other stuff.

Vibration at 70 mph and above

Is the road force where they run it against a drum while it is balanced? I don't know if it is going to be tire balance tho. It dis the exact same with the old tires, that's why I had them changed and got new rims at same time.

Vibration at 70 mph and above

I had it aligned to exact own specs and it didn't make a difference. Had to get the alignment done after all the steering component work. Made a big difference in steering and tire wear, but no difference with the vibration.

Vibration at 70 mph and above

Guess I will check into motor mounts. By the time I find this problem, I will have more money in parts than I paid for the truck.

Vibration at 70 mph and above

Ok guys, I have a 2006 Quadcab 2500 diesel all stock height and 241,000 miles. Have been chasing a vibration for almost 2 1/2 years. It starts around 70 mph and can be felt in the whole truck...i.e the steering wheel, seat, pedals and vibrates the rearview mirror BAD! New tires, new rims, new...

    DTC help, please

The 1391 code is the camshaft sensor. I have seen a lot of posts on another site about having to change out the distibutor to get the code to go away. I'm guessing the cam sensor is in the distributor. If the cam sensor and/or distributor are replaced and still have code cone back, it could also...

Quite a bit of smoke on start up

Turns out the injectors had been replaced before. Truck runs like new again. No more smoke after starting or idling. One thing I can say to someone doing an injector job for the first time is, pay close attention to torque specs on connector tube nuts and fuel line nuts! 39 lb/ft for tube nuts...

Quite a bit of smoke on start up

Coolant level doesn't drop. No antifreeze smell either. Looks like I am doing injector replacement. 3 injectors failed testing. They still work, but the shop said not for much longer. Very reputable shop in my area. As far as I know, injectors haven't ever been replaced, so 214000 miles I guess...

Quite a bit of smoke on start up

It is usually cold lol. It has been record setting warm, in upper 50's and upper 60s. But I will check all the connections for tightness as I remove lines for injector removal and testing. Thank you.

Quite a bit of smoke on start up

New guy here. I have a 06 2500 just bought a month ago. 4" turbo back muffler delete, 2piece exhaust manifold, banks cold air, banks high ram and banks autotuner. Tuner is set to economy. I get lots of white smoke on start up and once grid heater shuts off, still get a little greyish blue smoke...
