    AlfaOBD Support For 06~12 Rams

I recently replaced the OEM dual halogen headlights in my 2011 SLT with OEM quads. I had previously purchased AlfaOBD and was using an ELM327 compatible VEEPEAK BT module for for troubleshooting and diagnosis that I use on my BMW but I was getting a write error when attempting to code the BCM...

Help Needed-OEM Mopar backup cam install issue

Well, here I am 3 weeks later and good news. I sent my TIPM to Mak's for testing and repair, if possible. They received it on Tuesday afternoon and Friday morning I got a call from them to confirm what issues I was having and work to be performed. At that time they had already disassembled the...

Help Needed-OEM Mopar backup cam install issue

Struggling with how to proceed from here. I have 3 options. 1. Have the dealer reflash the PCM/TIPM in an attempt to unstick the issue with the reverse light relay at a cost of $120 2. Buy a new Mopar TIPM at a cost of $500-600 depending where I get it, even then I may get the same issue down...

Help Needed-OEM Mopar backup cam install issue

No worries, I appreciate the help regardless. I've no power to the 7-pin connector back up light either, but I'm not surprised since it's color coded the same as the reverse ights anyways, WT/RD. It appears my next option is to take it to the stealer and have them look for any related codes...

Help Needed-OEM Mopar backup cam install issue

You fought with which part? The no back up cam part or the no reverse lights part? Yep, I checked those about 6 times also. No continuity between conductors and they're correctly landed in pins 3, 4, 5 as identified on both the connector and the C1 port in the radio.

Help Needed-OEM Mopar backup cam install issue

Yep, it's a no-go on the hard reset. Had the pos/neg tie-wrapped together for 3 hours, still no reverse lights. No voltage at the reverse lights when in reverse. I did un-pin the #15 from the C5 connector while I had the battery disconnected and apply 12v, reverse lights came on.

Help Needed-OEM Mopar backup cam install issue

So I've disconnected the power wire to the cam harness from the reverse light circuit at the TIPM. Still no reverse lights. Next I attempted a soft TIPM reset. No codes, no reverse lights. Currently attempting a hard reset/capacative discharge of the TIPM for a few hours. Fingers crossed.

Help Needed-OEM Mopar backup cam install issue

Thanks. Possible, but unlikely. I had the issue after I made the power connection and before I took it to the dealer to update the XAC sales code. If I disconnect the tailgate harness from the body harness and unplug the C1 connector at the radio I still have no reverse lights but everything...

    Tick or manifold bolts

My '11 5.7 had the cold-start tick when I bought it used 2 years ago, out of factory warranty at 58k miles. Had it inspected by an independent shop and they found no broken manifold bolts BUT, both manifolds were warped and the gaskets were toast. Replaced manifolds with OEM and NAPA gaskets and...

Help Needed-OEM Mopar backup cam install issue

So... I'm aware this topic had been discussed at great length in many threads but I've Googled every possible thing I can think of, searched every Dodge, RAM, Chrysler forum I can find without finding anything that helps explain my situation or offer a solution. I've even read all 146 pages of...

    Kleinn Train Horn Kit Installed

Not sure why, but that photo from their website is not representative of the new mounting system that I received, they now use two separate brackets. Agreed. I could definitely buy all the components included in their kit cheaper myself but I'd still have to engineer, fab and powder the...

    Kleinn Train Horn Kit Installed

Correct William, the horns mount to a bracket that bolts to the inside of the left frame nose and the compressor/tank is mounted in the same way but on the right side. I was skeptical at first that there was enough room but Kleinn did their homework and everything is pretty well protected from...

    Kleinn Train Horn Kit Installed

Thanks fellas. I wanted to do this to my F150 years ago when I had it but never did, I was determined to pull the trigger on a kit when I bought the Ram. It takes considerable restraint to avoid using it unnecessarily it like a hooligan but, I will say that it DOES get a person's attention when...

    Kleinn Train Horn Kit Installed

I've finally finished installing a RAM1500-230 onboard air system with triple train horns from Kleinn Air Horns on my 2011 Ram 1500 SLT so I thought I'd share it with you. It's a vehicle specific kit as it includes all hardware, brackets, connectors, wire, relays and detailed instructions. The...
