Hey sgopus ..... I feel your pain (back pain) I'm 66 and although I can still climb in & out & under the truck, I have to pick my spots accordingly.
I bought my Bosch RV275 injectors (great cond. used) for $175 .....Also, got a great deal on new Cummins connector tubes for $90 w/o-rings.
and...
OK, thanks! ......How about replacing the injector tubes (you call them connector tubes same thing right?) Should I replace them since they'll be out
anyway when I'm installing new injectors?.......found some new ones on e-bay.
So I ordered the Bosch RV2-75 Injectors....I was thinking of installing them myself (not a wrencher, but mechanically inclined) what degree of difficulty would you say to install?
from 1 to 10 ???.............Thnx, Scippy
I'm a lot older now and don't get my foot into it like I would years ago, (not that you'd hate to get stuck behind me on a one lane road lol)
but, can I mix 100 hp sticks with stock turbo haulin' 14k worth of boat & trailer ..........I guess the balancing act would be monitoring EGT
With the Edge EZ installed in my truck and stock turbo (aside from my 4" turbo back & DDPP Fass) would the RV275 sticks maximize my gains in "towing" performance?......or, would VP7X9 injectors be a better suit for towing?.....Also, would the 100hp injectors run my EGT's too high for comfort?
If go the pan way & want to drill a hole in my 47re pan where should the placement be? .....I'm thinking placement would be critical because of probe
length and tranny parts..........Also, I found this...
I've read conflicting opinions on placement of temp sensor in the tranny pan by way of drain plug.......................some say you won't get an accurate temp reading because the fluid is much cooler here as much as 15* cooler.....is this true?
Which EGT gauge would be suitable to install in my truck?...I have a choice of (3) 1500*? - 2200*? - or - 2400*........My truck is a
little above stock (DDRP Fass pump - 4" turbo back exhaust - Edge EZ Module - Bosh 100 hp injectors)................Thanks, Scippy
So I made up my mind and hopefully the 3 gauges (fuel pressure , Trans temp & EGT) that I'll be installing on the triple A-pillar pod for my truck can be wired with no hitches......some questions, on a stock 47re auto trans where do you (and what might you need) to run a temp gauge off...
Thanks tf1967 & jbayes .......Settled on these (3) fuel pressure, trans temp & EGT gauges ....How difficult is it to run the wire for these gauges?........
Correction, I don't have wheel simulators!..dumb mistake on my part thinking that until I removed what appears to be the OEM wheel trim rings and center hubs.
I was shocked to see how expensive OEM replacement are.........just for the '01 center hub w/ram head can go for as much as $150.00...
Mime are a bit rough so looking to replace my 8 lug 7 hand hole wheel simulators for Ram 3500 dually, but so far every vender has plain generic (no ram head on center hub) does anybody know where a close to stock replacement could be found?........been looking and found replacement (8 lug 7 hand...
Yes would like that thanks!.......Are there any drawbacks to using a 200* stat over a 190*?..of course quicker heat would be preferred, but must be a reason for a standard 190* installed.
I have a block heater. discovered it just 2 weeks ago and been using it since. Works great & faster starting times.....finding diesel is a different beast!
When I drove the duALLY home in Dec. (Ohio to NJ) roughly 500 miles she was 190* all the way with good heat.
Since then short trips in cold weather rarely do have to remove my coat in the cab because it's too hot, but it's
adequately warm not cold........I'm accepting of the consensus here...
