    California Powerwagons

Most of my vehicles and trailers I've purchased out of state including from California. Certainly made it much more expensive in rural Colorado to comply with California requirements on the replacement of on my older truck's Federal catalytic converters.

    Magnetic armor?

Don't know of any, but then driving a full size truck on narrow Jeep trails just isn't worth it.

I rather use more gas to stay with the flow even if it means exceeding the posted 75 to 80 MPH speed limits.

2013 Power Wagon - What Would You Do to It?

Yes, I see that now. I don't see too many tonneau covers around here, mostly toppers, but then our snowfall just yesterday still in October was from 12 to 16 inches. I have a lot more confidence with a topper under 4' of snow.

HW285PW Nice trailer. I picked up this 2023 20BD for camping all year in our Western Slope region. My PW towing gasoline MPG decreased from 8.5 to 6.5 on my recent trip to the East Coast once I dropped below 6,000 feet in elevation. Also switch to 87 Octane from 85 due to the lower altitude...

I'll stick with my Power Wagon's poor gasoline mileage in the winter's negative Fahrenheit temperatures versus a BEV or a diesel. Some of us have no garage and/or outlet within 100 yards from where our trucks are parked. From the Ford website... Tips for maximizing your BEV's range in cold...

Just towed a brand new empty (winterized) 25' long x 8' wide x 11 1/2' high at 6,200 pound travel trailer from the Colorado Rockies to the eastern seaboard on calibrated 35's. 6.5 MPG per the computer dash read out and it just stayed at that. Drove 11 hours per day at 654 miles a day for 3...

What did you do with your (new) stock tires?

Next time get some studdable tires and do the job right. We can run them legally all year here. I still have my tire marks burned into a concrete driveway from 1973. They last a lifetime.
  16. G

What did you do with your (new) stock tires?

Make the driveway marks last deeper into the driveway by installing some tungsten carbide tipped studs on those stock OEM Goodyear Duratrac tires.

Bragging about MPG - in a POWERWAGON?

Save up to 4 cents per gallon in California by purchasing regular versus the premium! That still doesn't make it more affordable.

Getting my 66rfe rebuilt. Called the shop immediately to schedule the earliest appointment. That was over a month ago. If I requested a 8HP70 instead it wouldn't ever get repaired even if it was doable.

Im sure this has been asked and answered but I can't for the life of me find it...

Running five 35" Toyos @ 37 PSI on the OEM factory aluminum wheels (ditched the steel). It gets easier at every tire rotation to get the spare tire at pressure in the factory spot.
