    Gear Swap

Thrashie isn't the OP, he just chimed in with his own experience; he just ordered 4.10s :happy107:

    airlift 1000?

My 1000's do an awesome job of keeping our Reese dual cam WD hitch nice and consistently level so it can do its job, pulling our 35.5' Passport 3220BH.

    3" Lowering Springs for Rear

^ This. I dropped my rear 3" which levelled it. The hood appeared higher than the bed because it bulges up so far; I hated the stance and redid the job with a new pair of springs (thanks Wild one!) to lower only 2". Who is "Maxtrac"? Do you know their spring rates? If you tow anything at...

2009-2015+ Kooks Ram Long Tube Header Install

MAN, those are gorgeous headers! Wild one is a helluva guy and wouldn't steer you wrong; If I had $ to spend on mods, he'd be very busy answering questions from me as well :roflsquared: I hope this mod turns out as well as we all think it will for you.

Shocker Hitch - Anyone ever used one?

One of the OG's on here had one and swore by it. The physics make sense if you don't need weight distribution.

    airlift 1000?

Both the 1000s and 5000s will do the job for you; this is still a light-duty half ton you're putting either bag into. Because they don't give you any additional capacity and knowing the 1000s are able to take a lot more abuse in other applications (with closer coil springs, to keep them...

Max Trailer Weight Rating- Will I be Legal

Congrats! As much fun as truck shopping is I know most of us wish the 1500 would work for you, but also you want you to be safe and have a reliable tow vehicle. I hope you took our comments in that context :favorites13: Happy shopping!

Max Trailer Weight Rating- Will I be Legal

You should at least consider lighter trailer options. Changing the gears will allow you to pull more weight, more easily, but will not change what your truck is rated to pull unless you get it re-certified, which costs far more than getting a more capable truck. Q- did you buy the macked-out...

    New Audio System

Do some reading on the interwebs, and acquaint yourself with better quality gear which isn't sold at every chain electronics store. JL/Pioneer/Alpine? maybe for head units. Look up Sundown, Digital Designs (DD), DC, Audioque and more. Boutique brands HAVE to try hard and support you in order...

Max Trailer Weight Rating- Will I be Legal

There should be a placard inside the driver door showing the payload for your individual truck. No website will be 100% accurate if you want to stay within legal limits. I also think 1,500lbs is too high for a truck as bedazzled with options as a limited; my Sport is only low 1300#- you should...

    2500 - Made in Mexico

I have only my '01 Nissan to go by which was built in Mexico. Beating relentlessly on it since day 1, auto-crossing, some stoplight to stoplight pride defense and a couple uh, off-road excursions have done nothing to stop it; it just won't stop. I would not consider being built in Mexico a...

    2500 - Made in Mexico

Vehicle assembly of one of the better jobs they can get- I'll bet they are very proud of the work, and do their best work every day. You probably don't want to hear this, but my $.02

    Oil catch can

I don't think many of us would argue this is not a performance mod. I don't collect near as much oil as many of you based on photos here but I still don't that crap run through my engine, for any period of time.

Loss of low end power after installing Intake

Well written post, bud. Finally I'm not the only one who doesn't think a CAI, even a well designed one, is the equivalent to nitrous. I am happy with my S&B, but I had little expectation when I bought it.

    airlift 1000?

I tried locally supplied hose which was not nearly as easy to work with. I ended up buying another kit so I have spares of everything. If you tow, keeping the bags separate is WELL worth it; don't use the tee!

    Airlift 5000 vs 5000 ultimate vs 1000

The Ultimate appears to have closed-cell urethane foam jounce bumper inside the air spring, while the 5000 is only the airbags. For our application, it replaces the foam bumpstop. I have not installed a 5000 system, but have been much more satisfied with my 1000 setup than I thought I could be.

    Not a normal exhaust question.

I would loosen, adjust and re-tighten that last clamp band to make sure it's making a good seal.

Trailer TPMS that talks to OEM system?

I use that TST507 system; it's phenomenal, but won't communicate with the OEM system. Out truck doesn't have the capacity to monitor additional tires. When I was shopping I did not find any system which would. I highly recommend a trailer TPMS; it allows you to concentrate on driving instead...

    Batter(y) Up

I don't think marine/RV batteries have the CCA's to crank an engine over in cold weather, but that may well not apply to you. Marine/RV are deep cycle which will work, but aren't starting batteries per se.

Rear coil compatibility between year models

Yes there are many different part #s. L/R ARE different to account for gas tank placement etc. I'm using (and towing with) coils from a 2013 RCSB on my 2012 CCSB. You'll be fine.

    Heavier oil when towing

It was based on info presented by Burla and others in the oil threads, suggesting the 20W might not provide long-term protection when working hard. Because we use the truck almost exclusively for towing (so it rarely has an opportunity to go into ECO mode and therefore MDS) and I keep my...

    Spark plug change

It took me almost 4 hours, going at a slow'n'steady pace. a 6" section of 5/8" heater hose worked awesome for putting the new plugs in and getting them seated, without dropping them down. A finger ratchet head (the rather part without the handle) helped put everything back more quickly than...
