Every now and then when I try to start my 04 ram 2500 with the 5.7 hemi, it will crank and crank but not start. I noticed that the problems seems to be with the electronic throttle. The light comes on sometimes when the key is turned to on, and if its lit when I try to start it, It wont start...
I lost a key fob, but still have an original. I bought one online but I am unable to program it.
I do not think it is the remote that is the problem. I think it's my truck.
Everything I'veread says to hold the unlock button and press the panic button which makes the truck chime.
It...
Any other ideas? I really hope my frame rail on that side isn't dipped in the middle. Any tips on checking that myself before I spend almost $200 just to have the frame checked??

I don't see how that would help. The bed isn't shifted. It's either dropped in that corner along with the cab or the frame is bent on that side.

I have noticed that my bed is twisted as you might be able to see from the rear. I know my bed is rotted out underneith in the front passenger corner, so I figured it dropped in that corner. Looked closer and see that the bed is still lined up with the cab as far as body lines and the back...
Alright, since I've last posted in this thread.. I still have the issue. All new tires, both leaf springs are new. Motor was replaced due to rod bearings. I swapped the t-case because my overdrive housing snapped off at the rear and ruined the splines.
I have ever so slight play up and down in...
I know this is older now, but the grinding was because the transfer case wasn't sitting straight on the output shaft of the transmission, which resulted in the input splines smoothing off.
When I pulled the overdrive unit and transfer case, i put them together on the ground and I could cause...
One tire will stick out a little more as the axle shifts over as the front end goes up. Therefore, the opposite tire will set in the fender more.
The wheels will also sit further back in the truck, as the axle comes back as the front end goes up.
I was sitting in stopped traffic on a street and as I hit the gas to move, I heard a loud sound and then nothing but grinding. As I hit the gas the grinding got louder. Truck wouldn't move under power at all. Luckily I was moving enough to roll to the side of the road. I wonder if my chain...
My overdrive housing in my truck broke right off where the transfer case mounts. I want to know if the overdrive unit off of a transmission behind a 5.2 will work. I know all 5.9s had the 45rr behind them and the 5.2 had the 44re behind them, correct? If so, will it work? I have a 2002 ram...
Not a 3rd Gen mirror. The plastic area that mounts to the door is larger. If you look up pictures, you'll see a difference.

They are aftermarket mirrors. I was under the impression they started having them as an option in 98. But anyway they should be the same then? Minus the mounting flange because of the door shape?
I have a set of tow mirror's in my truck, but I've noticed that my convex mirrors are flatter compared to others I've seen. I've been trying to find replacement glass for my mirrors, but all I ever find is for 03-08. They look extremely similar. Does anybody know if it'll fit?
Im thinking ill replace the timing chain. I'm going to have to do the plenum plate upgrade as well. I did it on the previous motor, but this one most likely needs it. Oh well, i like working on it!
I'm not sure how far they freshened up the motor before they put it in. They did gaskets, oil coolant and the pcv. Looks like new plugs and wires too. Like I said I haven't looked into it too far.
