Lifter failure again… how to bulletproof?
Bingo! The Hemi doesn’t flow enough at idle and the watery stock oil for MDS doesn’t leave enough lubricant film during prolonged idle. Once over 1500 rpm there is more than enough oil thrown onto cam and rollers, but stop and go is ut-oh for 5.7L Hemi.- Casper

Constant low oil pressure after top rebuild
I hope for your wallet that the cam/lifter failure didnt send debris tracking through one of your main bearings. That would cause a psi drop noticeable at idle that the oil pump might not be albe to keep up with. It would probably get worse the warmer the oil gets.- Casper

Ram 5.7 can and lifter replacement
My 2012 had lifter/cam failure at 94K miles. The replacement cam failed when the phaser on the end sheared and that took out another set of lifters. At that point something also tracked through a main bearing. No effect at higher rpm, but my oil pressure when warm at idle is 9 psi...- Casper

Adding Seafoam into a Hemi prior to an oil change

Are the Current Hemi motors still eating Cams and Lifters?
It's a design flaw. Cam and lifters don't get enough lubrication below about 2K rpm. If yourr doing traffic stop and go it's gonna shorten your engine life. There is too much distance from crank to cam gallery and poor designed lube. Above 2K rpm oil gets flung everywhere inside.- Casper

xxx In future I'd recommend obtaining a battery jumper. They charge constantly, and then you can self-jump your vehicle. The one I have has a spot light, a USB connection and an air compressor for dealing with those annoying TPMS sensors.- Casper

To those with 20 inch chrome clads...
The only issue I've had with those rims is they don't like potholes or grease-gorillas. The chrome clad does fine, the rims can go out of true way too easy. Mounting a tire incorrectly can also bend the aluminum alloy rim and grease-gorillas are sneaky. I had a TPMS sensor changed. The... -

xxxx You don't have to go delete or shorty. Unfortunately the OEM is ginormous and most options to improve your tone do involve make-up pipe. I have a 24" magnaflow in a DIY kit by Mufflex. Its flow-through and has a nice sound, "Hey! I've got a Hemi!" not "F.U. I'm an obnoxious neighbor."...- Casper

xxx How often have you seen boxed frames on resto-mods to handle new power plants? When you box a frame you weld on strengthening material. No different that cutting out an area of cancer and replacing. -

xxx Wife has one. Key is the 3.2L V-6. The I-4 is a dog. 8-spd with V-6 keeps it "zippy." Young folks without kids don't need no fat-ole Grand Cherokee sized 4x4 for snow and mud. Same with old farts with an empty nest.- Casper
