So, I got My 2017 RA4 with Nav in yesterday, and I can say I am mighty impressed.

One issue though...when turn by turn voice commands come on, it is not fully muting the music playing, and You can't hear the voice prompts. Any suggestions?

My 16 does not mute the music. When the nav is talking you can adjust the volume. I'm sure there is a way to adjust in the settings too, but I have never done it that way.

Yeah, I saw the setting for the voice prompts volume....maybe I'll try to just turn it up. Thanks!

I set my Nav volume to 20 , it lowers my music slightly and speaks at #20 volume until changed . 20 is pretty high imo , I typically listen to the radio @ 14 -18 , for me this set up works well .

I have a 2015 RA4 8.4NA radio in my 14 Ram.

Next problem... can't get my music on my phone to come up as a menu on the RA4....I can play the music over Bluetooth when I initiate it from the phone, but there is no actual menu on the radio. Hmmmm...

2 things, the radio doesn't lower the volume of music, it outputs NAV volume on driver front speaker but leaves the music volume the same on all other speakers. When connected with Bluetooth, you will only see information for the current song. There won't be a list of selectable songs unless the phone is physically connected and/or you use a USB/SD.

Dam....my leased base model corolla has a Bluetooth that brings up a complete song list on the radio..... :crazy:

I stand corrected Sir .

I used Nav this morning and you are correct the music volume doesn't lower at all the Nav sound is only displayed through the drivers front dash speaker at the preselected Nav volume level , which in my particular case is # 20.

For anyone that wants the Nav voice only ie... music turn off and Nav voice only while using Navigation you can do this :
In radio mode choose audio then adjust the fade to the left front speaker only while your using Navigation.

And a general reference for those with an Ra3 Vp3-NA radio that had the nav activated but lost after a reset/update...

DISCUSSION:

All MY13-16 vehicles sold in the U.S. with the RA3 or RA4 radio can now receive software
updates “over-the-air”. Updates to software level 17.11.07 will occur in a phased roll-out.
The software is updated through the built-in cellular modem in the radio which is
connected to the Sprint® 3G network. Customers will see a notification on their radio
screen when new software is available for their radio (Fig. 1). The owner will have the
option to update the radio or schedule the update for later. There is not an option to
decline the update indefinitely. The update must be performed.
NOTE: This is an information only TSB to help the customers understand how they
can perform their FOTA update. This document does not contain a LOP for
reimbursement.

Also , can one " accept " the update then drive the vehicle while it auto updates or must you interface with it Untill installed while in park ?

Now that I think about it, I wonder if they have already been experimenting with the OTA push. Recently my 911 cheater started giving me errors and text to speech stopped working on my non-factory RA4. It has since gone back to normal except for my cellular connectivity is null...
