Alone I dont think its going to do a whole lot. If its just the cat it'll end up being crimped anyways as the stock piping going to and from the cats are 2.5" not 3".

Truckin, mine is 3" coming off the Y pipe to the Cat, and from the Cat to the muffler. The OEM Cat chokes down from the 3" inlet and outlet. The new High Flow will really open it up. It'll be installed tomorrow.

Alright, I just know on my 05' the cats were 2.5" in/out so if the 03's are different then great.

Truckin, I have an early build 03. It only has one cat. The y pipe really isn't that bad, with a 3" diameter piping from the Y to the cat. What I'm thinking is to use LT's and Y pipe to the single (cored) cat when it is all done. But for now I want to experiment a little with what I have which is OEM headers and Y pipe and High flow cat/muffler and dual pipes out the back. I hadn't even planned to mess with the exhaust just now except the tail pipes were in worst shape than I first thought. The FM50 duals had been on the truck for 6 years.

Ah alright I gotcha, forgot that the earlier 3rd gens had that setup. I kept thinking why in the hell is he going to put a 3" dia cat on a 2.5" dia pipe and think that that will get rid of the restriction.... But it all makes sense now.

So did you install the cat yet? I am really curious to see if this does anything for your performance.

I am afraid it is a bust. I made a couple runs as the temps are going down a little. But my 0-60 mph times went up from 5.88 to 6.23. The Mag High Flow Cat is smaller and shorter than the OEM cat. The OEM cat has a lot more surface area for the gas to flow through. But the OEM is also longer meaning the gas has a longer restricted path. The good news is I mounted it behind the trans cross member, so the LT's should be a bit easier. Question how long before I can expect a code to be thrown. No codes yet.....

When I did the high flows one side threw a code within a couple days and the other side did not throw a code for about 4 months.

Ok, I thought it might throw codes immediately. Of course I am disappointed with the outcome, but this is how we learn. The forum is great as an individual doesn't have to make every mistake himself, but can learn from others. So I would say if you are running 3" duals , a pair of 03 OEM cats would do the job best of what I have seen. I was told there is a 96 Dodge cat that is hugh and has dual inlets with a 3 inch outlet that really flows. This might be something for a QC. The Mag HF cat is relatively small but doesn't flow as well as the 03 OEM cat IMO.

Scuse me, but what the **** is a kr?

Knock Retard. It is when you get detonation (knock) from running too much timing advance, poor quality fuel, or too low of octane. The knock sensor will then retard the timing, cutting power and saving your engine.

If you are getting any knock with your SC there is not much you can do other than run higher octane fuel. That is one thing with the Diablo, you can add more fuel at WOT or get a custom tune to get rid of KR at any RPM and throttle position.

I should have a new run goin in the next week fellows. Torque converter goin in Saturday, that coupled with my new tires 285 aspect vice 305 should make a diff...I hope..Need to measure the new tire diameter first and enter that. Will up the RPM to 6400 and shift at 6300 (as recommended by Trukin on the other forum).
So sitting now at a best of 6.59 after my e-fan install and shifting at 6200 (in 2wd).
So...I'll be back and will take a pic of the SC screen cause I know you guys like that..
Hoping to surpass the next hurdle (6.33 time) on my way to catchin up with Teach and AF....LMAO.
