Anybody else's 02 4.7 take an unusual amount of time to get heat? I'm talking 20-25 min of driving in temps of about 35*f before hot air arrives. Going to change t stat, coolant and flush heater core to see if that helps. My engine always runs cool, just below mid mark on gauge in mid summer but I need to do something about it running even cooler in winter. I covered the radiator but that didn't seem to do much. Thanx.

I had a similar situation in my 02 and discovered it was low on coolant.

Update: well I did everything I said and a leaking cam sensor, have excellent heat now but now the temp runs at 3/4 gauge rather than a little below half. Idk what's going on now.

I wonder if you have an air bubble in the system.
