So, I'm thinking about doing a little project on replacing my ash tray (not a smoker so I don't need it) with a piece of laser-engraved plexiglas with the Dodge logo on it. Behind the plexiglas I was planning on putting a red LED light that would turn on whenever my truck's running. How would I go about wiring that?

Go buy a 12v LED from Amazon or Ebay, they make plenty of automotive bulbs in red. You would just wire it into an ignition fused device like the radio.

Just understand, you get what you pay for with LED lighting. IF you buy a 2$ bulb, you will get a cheap bulb. Decent LED bulbs for interior use run about 4$ per.
