i just did a bunch of work for my girlfriends dad and he gave me a 1992 Ram D150, 318ci, 2WD, LE package (power windows, locks, mirrors, etc.) the driver side front coil spring is broke. i found a 1977 Ram, just like mine only older, ALOT older. all that ive found on the internet says i can use the coil springs from the '77 on my '92. does anyone know if this will work?
P.S. the internet says they both use the MOOG 7170 coil springs

Welcome to the site.
Sorry I can't help ya too much. But those years are pretty much all the same but I would do some measurements first, and if they do fit replace both the front ones. They way you keep them the same

Checking at work, it shows the same spring for 80-93 year model but doesn't show anything for the 77's

they're all interchangable. Just have to make sure the engines are the same. Different engines had different spring rates. If the 77 has a 318 or bigger your all good

Its the same amount of time and labor to install new spring as it is to install old used ones....... I would install new. The truck needs front end alignment after coil spring swap. The moog ones are a little over 100 for a new pair.

I can post the pages of the factory parts books from 72-93 that will show you that they are all not the same

Replace them with a pair of new ones A/C & other options determine springs
If your truck has a steering box brace that's a clue to heavy duty suspension The data decal will give you that info too
