1988 Dodge D250 Valve Seals

I have a 1988 Dodge D250 with a 1985 5.9 360. I'm rebuilding the engine and this is a first for me. I recently bought valve seals and I was wondering if they are supposed to be different. The intake fit perfectly. But since all of the exhaust seals turned to dust when I took the spring off I didn't know what the exhaust seals looked like. The new exhaust seals I got don't stay in place on the head like the intake and I wanted to know if they are supposed to do that or not. The picture below is what I got.
