I have a 1999 1500 with the 5.2l 5 speed standard cab short box I'm building a mild wheeler out of it and eventually want to get it closer to a full blown mud truck but for now I just have a 5 inch rough country front lift with super lift 2" rear springs with 1" blocks on 35s next year i plan on doing 3/4 ton axles and was contemplating upgrading my tranny and transfer case because i think i have an nv3500 but I don't no a lot about it how can I tell if my tranny is a nv3500 or nv4500 and if mine is a nv3500 can i do the whole swap with a 3/4 ton 5.9 nv4500 donor truck

An easy way to tell is to look at the bellhousing. The NV3500s have an integrated bellhousing, the NV4500s have removable bellhousings. The NV3500also has a plate for a PTO unit.
