The standard tan color.

EVIC came in today and I swapped it into my original console for now. Looking at the 2 consoles, I think I can get away with drilling a couple holes in the plastic in the map light area like the smaller console has, cutting away some of the headliner and then be able to mount the longer console without needing the longer support bracket for it.

The EVIC itself works great, WAY more features than the OTIS has and everything works, including the instant MPG. BUT, I can't get the Homelink buttons to program, even after clearing them several times. I get the "Did not train" error. I'll have to research and play with it some more, maybe I'm missing something.

The longer console mounts differently, so unless you want the back end to hang down, you'll need it lol. It sounds like you have a rotating frequency door opener. There's a special procedure for that (it's in the manual).

First page of the thread has some pics from HemiLonestar and I posted all the applicable part #s to search for just after.

Yeah, the procedure is basically the same, program the remote to the Homelink in the truck but then you have to program that to the opener. I can't even get the first step to complete.

Still no luck getting the HomeLink working. I do like the added features of the EVIC tho and everything else is working correctly on it.

One thing that seems odd, and I still have to confirm it, the average MPG with the EVIC is significantly better than what the OTIS was giving me. I've gone from 13/14mpg average with the OTIS to 18/19.5 mpg average with the EVIC. That is what each one displayed. I need to actually verify that with the math at the pump still. I think the EVIC might be a little generous or maybe needs to learn still.

What size tank do you have? I think the default setting is for a 26gal tank; it bases most of it's fuel economy, DTE readings, etc on the size tank (it's a menu option to change in the DRBIII).

I have the 26 gallon. What's the DRBIII?

The dealer scan/flash tool they used through about 05 for the PCI bus vehicles before they started with CAN bus. I picked one up years back from a dealership that closed. Has more than paid for itself. Initialize SKIM's, do quick learns for transmissions, program remotes, etc. Unfortunately doesn't work for LX's so I ended up getting a Starscan too.

Morning all!

Can I add this to a '04 Standard Cab 1500 that does not have an overhead at all?

Cannot seem to get any of the parts numbers to match up.

Thanks!

You can, but it'll take a little more finagling. On PCI bus vehicle it requires running harness over and down the A pillar to tap in to the OBD plug. I did this install on my ex-wife's 04 Liberty, also a PCI bus vehicle. Just to give you an idea of what you'd be in for: http://www.jeepkj.com/evic/
I'm sure there's a write-up somewhere on the interwebs that is Ram specific.

Just to confirm p/n 56049707AF is an otis with homelink, 56049706AE is an otis without homelink.

My question is, based on this theory, does that mean that p/n 56045573AE is an evic without homelink?

Yes, and 56045574AE is EVIC with Homelink, but here is where things get a little weird. 2003 parts book has the EVIC listed in it...2004 does not and 2005 is just vague. I posted the screenshots from those particular pages, the full manuals are available for download on this site in a sticky. I highlighted the EVIC with Homelink on the 03 page.

Thanks for the info. Did a little more research last night. Appears the 56045574AE is the only evic number. Everything else is just an otis with or without homelink. Evic has writing directly on the buttons, otis buttons are blank and a different shape. Also all evics have homelink from what i understand

Correct. 56045574AE is rare bird, I happened on mine from a dealer that closed down and was liquidating their parts inventory (and that was YEARS ago). For example, none on eBay, however I found three on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Chrysler-Gen...TF8&qid=1533308658&sr=8-1&keywords=56045574AE
At brand new dealer price unfortunately lol
