2004 1500 slt 5.7 hemi 2wdr auto trans loud bang when shifting to 4th .

My 2004 1500 slt 2 wheel drive is making a loud bang and slipping when shifting up . It ran fine drained fluid and new filter , 2 days later stared acting up getting codes P700 P734 dont have allot of money so trying to get idea of where to start !

P0734 is never a good sign. Everytime I had that a code a new trans followed after

Thank you I dropped the pan and the guy that did it used so much silicone it had the filter pluged and chunks inside the pan no metal shavings nothing so new filters new gasket new fluid about to reset codes and test it cross your fingers

You might need to take in mind your torque converter those chunks could be floating around in it too if you don't get it all out.It could still cause problems too.

Yes it now no longer does it in 4th now its in fifth so looks like drop it all again ..

Also the person who put the silicone on the gasket be looking for a new transmission and a new torque converter too.
