Hello I need some help, I can not get my working fob to go into program mode to program another fob.
The remote works fine unlock, lock and panic but after step 3 it does nothing. I have tried waiting longer and waiting less but still no tone or anything after panic.

It is for a 05 Ram 1500 Daytona any help would be great.

1. Put key in ignition and turn ignition switch to ON position (last stop before cranking the engine).
2. Press and hold UNLOCK on a currently functioning remote for 4 to 10 seconds.
3. While holding the UNLOCK button during the 4 to 10 second period, press the panic button for one second and release both buttons at the same time. A
chime should sound within three seconds to indicate the vehicle has entered programming mode.
4. Press the Unlock button on the remote used in step 3. You should hear an audible tone indicating that remote has been re-programmed. This step must be done within 30 seconds of hearing first chime in step 3.
5. Within 30 seconds – Press the Unlock button on the next remote.
-Repeat step 5. for all additional remotes including working remotes
6. Programming is now complete. Turn ignition off and test remotes to ensure proper programming.

Just asking lol...where did you get those instructions? The owner's manual seems to have quite a few more steps

Thanks, They are listed all over the internet basically saying the same thing as that one, I just copied one as an example but ya I did try the seatbelt as well.
I can get to #6 but # 7 never happens on the one you posted, I tried 4 sec to 10 sec I never do get the tone or chime.

Thinking maybe I was just doing something wrong with the simple instructions I looked up a video. But no looks the same as ones I have tried and never got the tone.

Went down to the locksmith and they said only dodge can program the remotes, without even looking it up. lol I'm not arguing with them if they don't want to do it.

That's BS. I never had to do the dance in the manual because I have an EVIC; there's a menu option for it.

Ya I didn't think it was right but I wasn't going to get anywhere arguing with him about it.
When I got the truck I looked up turning the chirp off when the doors lock and had no problem doing that then.
But for some reason as simple as it reads and looks I cant get it to go to have a backup remote.

I am having the same issue with my 2006 Ram. I am suspecting that it has something to do with my aftermarket stereo not communicating with Canbus system, but I dont know.

Did you ever find a fix? I have a 2006 and mine will not enter the programming mode either.

No I have not got into the program mode..
I can change the arm and disarm chirp but can not get to the remote program..

I know the panic works since it sets the alarm off if pressed by itself..
The following works : for the chirp..

Your car is set by default to honk the horn when you lock your doors with the remote. However, you can change this if you prefer. Here’s what you need to do:

  1. Press both the lock and unlock buttons on your remote for two seconds.

  2. Watch for the hazard lights to flash three times.

  3. Lock the doors and confirm that the horn does not sound.
If you want to reactivate the beep feature:

  1. Press and hold both the lock and unlock buttons on the remote for at least two seconds.

  2. Watch for the hazard lights to flash once. The horn should honk one time.
