Now I didn't expect to get 20mpg out of this thing, but my brother has a 2011 and his gets about 17-18 combined driving and I'm only getting like 13.5mpg. Does mine seem too low? I do not drive with a heavy foot at all. Tire pressures are all up to the maximum pressure and the truck idles very little. I fell as if it should be higher, but I'm not sure that's why I'm asking on here

I do combined driving and have put a few hundreds miles on my 2012 and I’m averaging 15. I am light on through pedal most times as I am trying to maximize mileage instead of constantly smashing the pedal for no real reason. It’s not great but it sure beats the 10-11 I was getting with my beat ass F150 5.4

I recently took a road trip...about 250 miles all Interstate , cruise set st 83 miles an hour I got right at 19 miles a gallon. Was measured by filling up with gas, not the digital readout on the display which I don’t pay any attention to.

Hand calculated for me. I don’t trust the dash read out. I think if I kept at speed limit on highway I could see 20 MPG.

EVIC says on on my 2011 5.7l
Highway 20mpg if i drive for long distance at 50mph
paved, curvy and hilly country roads 14mpg
City with ot of stop n' Go traffic 11mpg

Idrive mostly a mix of all above and get usually about 14 mph

I am sure that my 305/55/R20 Toyo Open Country AT are raising fuel consumption

All sixteen spark plugs are supposed to be changed every 30K miles. How many miles do you have and when was the last plug change?

I typically get 12.8 mpg city driving and on road trips have nibbled at 20 mpg.
I drive 30 miles each direction mixed freeway with stop and go traffic and average 16 mpg.

Also, winter blend fuel will be way worse ( -1-2 mpg) than summer blend.

I average about 13.5 mpg on my 2012 also. I just hit 50K miles, I haven't gotten around to changing the plugs yet but I bought them a few weeks ago. All other items are same as my signature states.

If you have an android phone, I use Fuelio, which is a great app, lots of stats and breakdowns and it is free.

I only have just under 49K miles on my truck. I honestly have no idea what I have for gears in the axles but its the 6 speed auto trans. I do know that at 70MPH my trucks around 1,800RPM's or so. I do about 50% highway and 50% back road driving. I like to think that I'm pretty easy on the skinny pedal (I let it shift at just below or right on 2K RPM's). I only hand calculate my MPG's out of habit and my truck is only an ST and doesn't have the lie-o-meter..

For instance what I thought was absolutely horrible is I did a 1,400 mile round trip to Canada for a snowmobiling trip and I was getting 9.2 MPG (hand calculated) towing my 12' clam shell trailer at 70MPH the whole way with 2 sleds and gear in it. Like that's less than 2k LBS..

I have the 6 speed and 3.55s and I can get around 20mpg on the highway. City I'm around 13, combined around 16. I agree, how many miles are on the plugs?

I'm not to sure about the plugs honestly, I'm just going to assume that they are factory

There should be a factory tag on your rear axle if it hasn't been washed out that tells you what gears you have.
