2013 Ram Sport Flickering Dash lights

Hello ! I have had my 2013 Ram 1500 sport truck since Oct 17 and the speedometer and other dash lights intermittantly flicker ? What is causing this and is there a fix ?? Thank you !

Do they flicker from on to off or bright to dim? My 17 flickers from bright to dim depending if headlights are on and the outside light. I just figured that's the way they were supposed to work.

Flickering is a sign of either a bad main connection, failing battery or alternator issue.

Check your battery main + & - connections to make sure they are clean and tight. Have your battery and alternator tested.

I had this issue when I kept the brightness low, I raised the brightness a little and it fixed the problem. Hasn't happened since

If this happens when you have the brightness settings fairly low, it’s just the way it is, Chrysler released a software update to fix it, which didn’t work, and as of right now there is no fix being worked on.

I’d do a battery and charging system test. This is typical of a failing alternator in my experience.

Having a similar issue ‘13 Sport R/T, in my case only the computer display in the dash is flickering not the gauges or any other lights (the brightness is flickering not actually going on & off). Been going on for several months and does it day or night, regardless of headlights on/off, with dimmer setting in any position, even when key is out of ignition.
Battery is a year old, haven’t checked the alternator... is the old way of checking an alternator (unhooking the battery while the truck is running) ok to do and a viable alternator check on a gen 4?
