The next question is: Is your fuel gauge calibrated for a 33 gallon fuel tank? Please let us know how much gas you can put into the tank when your Low Fuel Warning Light comes on.

Great looking truck. I've been away from Ram since I got my F150 King Ranch. Just got back from the dealer to see if the 2019 Ram is on my radar..... It is. I'll go with the E-torque hemi when I order.

Badass, congrats, love the limited but waiting on the Ram Box late availability and hopefully Ram cash rebates if sales are slow later in the year.
Love the body color bumpers ass well.
I also wish they had a black sport option for Limited version as well.

11,440 towing....1750 payload

With pickups the payload is determined primarily by the tires and to a lesser extent the rear suspension. With All Terrain tires in the 275/50R20 size one gets a 2150 lb load rating or 4300 lbs for the rear drive axle. Subtract the weight of the truck itself at the rear axle and what is left over is the payload capacity.

Problem with the crew cab trucks (which with the Laramie is the only cab offered) is that the manufacturer allows for 6 passengers with an average weight of 150 lbs or 900 lbs in total and that amount is used to reduce the payload for the bed of the truck. Regular cab pickups have the highest payload ratings due to this calculation.

I know this is getting off track of the thread - but the payload capacity is something giving me reservations about the Ram... I would be getting a crew cab - likely a Limited, or one optioned out almost that way. Towing a boat that can go between 6000 & 7000 lbs with trailer and how much fuel and water are in the tanks - assume 10% tongue weight - which I believe you count that as payload - correct - that brings me close to 1000 lbs. So, the question I've never been clear on is if passengers count in the payload or not - I though I'd read yes - the above seems to imply no. Most of my passengers are likely over 150 lbs  but even with 3-4 at 200 avg thats another 600-800 gone - does not leave a lot for other gear if that is the case.... just trying to get clarification on this point...

Yea passangers count towards payload it says it right on the sticker in the door jam.

The reason the single cabs have higher payloads is because the vehicle itself weighs less there for can have higher payloads before hitting the GVWR. Same reason why 2x4 always have higher payloads and why the gas version HD trucks have better payload as well because the gas engines weigh less than the diesels.
