Stupid question. I ordered a 19 Limited and although I know it's a Class IV hitch assy, I'm not sure if the ball mount is a 2 or a 2 1/2 inch mount? I want to order a new Weigh Safe mount. Also what size drops are most of you using...4 inch, 6 inch, etc?

Any help would be appreciated.

Class IV has a 2-inch receiver.

I run a 10-inch drop but that is off my 3500. Best bet is to level your trailer and measure the hitch height. Then do the same on a 1500 if you can find one at a dealer.

A class IV hitch would have a 2" receiver. As for the drop, I wouldn't do more than the 6" drop on the 1500 unless you plan to lift it. Going up or down a step hill will most likely drag the pavement. I have an 8" on my 2500 4x4 with the 180 hitch similar to the Weigh Safe.

The amount of drop you need is going to depend on the trailer. Someone noted about the receiver being 20" from the ground, my truck is about the same. I use a 2" drop and it works good for the four different trailers I tow. Your usually better to be slightly nose high thanas with any trail will squat the truck a little bit.

Yep - really the trailer will dictate the drop. On my dump I am at 6", on a small landscape I am at 8", and my HD Eqpt trailer is good at 4".
