I mentioned the superbrightleds on page 3. Check out page 2 for the Window and door lock led mod. You might like that! to finish your truck up

I know this is an old thread but it is very informative. I was wondering if anyone had pics of what red leds will look like? And also if anyone figured out how to dim them?

I knew I'd seen pics the window/door locks and ignition ring done before. But couldn't remember where until now. I just finished these mods on mine tonight as well. I love playing with LEDs!! :) you can have so much fun with them.

The link I posted above is fora thread on another forum but you should be able to find all the info and bulb numbers you need for the 02-08 rams in there.

No check engine bulb!! That's not a good sign!! When I bought my Dakota I later found out somebody had pulled that bulb, filled the hole with black silicone and stuck it back in. Took me a few weeks to even notice but at night you could just see a very dim light coming from it.

What color LEDs are you planning on using?

Positive. The dimmer and headlight switch look to be seperate and it def came from the headlight side ( had I pull down the plastic bottom a bit, couldn't figure out how to take it all apart)

unfortunately chief that's the contacts for the headlight switch... the part that turns for running lights then headlights... a set of small picks a small flat head and a lot of patience and you can reassemble..

This is an awesome little mod. Definitely gonna do red to match a color scheme I'm doing. Hopefully the red won't be as bright and glaring though.

I did the blue LED swap today. The step by step photos made it easy. The only slight hiccup I ran into was running the LED's in the climate control. I wasn't exactly sure how you hooked the 2 additional LED's in. It only took a moment to figure it out. I would like to rewire my Moonvisor with LED's but what would be a good size to use to be bright enough behind the amber lenses?

Wermbang, is this how you tied your extra LED's into the twist locks in your climate control? I just lifted up the wire a little bit on both sides and slide the other wire under it. Picture is kinda crappy.

Yeah I just tied them in with the lights that were already there.

Hey guys I'm relatively new here and I was wondering for those of you who decided to go red, did you end up cleaning off the blue film or did you just plug and play? Most importantly how did it turn out?
