Depends on what yours needs. Bolts can be done same day, if the dealer has them. Mine was inspected on the 6/5 and appointment for repair on 6/18. Dealer wanted to get the parts that they thought would need to be replaced. In on 6/18 asked for one week to repair. Hope we get it back on 6/22.

Depends on dealer and the experiese of they're mechanics. Some have been done in 1 day, but there's others that's taken way longer as they've removed heads and sent to machine shop to get the broken bolts extracted.

Does the 6.4 break the manifold bolts as often as the 5.7?

Let me start by saying I have the worst luck of anyone alive. I wouldn't leave my truck at the dealer on the 3RD if I needed it on the 6TH. I would listen to it leak all the way to Myrtle Beach and back.

As said, time to repair is highly dealer specific. Just got a call from my service manager on my 2018 6.4 2500. They inspected the exhaust on 6/5. Asked me to bring back on 6/18 and leave it for 5 days. They ordered and replaced several exhaust parts including the passenger side exhaust manifold bolts. They asked me to pick it up in the morning as the tech wants to do one more cold start. Some of these trucks (not all) came off the assembly line with improperly torqued parts. They found that the collector ball flange was also lose.
Hope you get a good outcome on your truck.

Has anyone ever done a poll to see what percentage of Hemi's have this problem?
I'm thinking it would be vary biased, only those with broken bolts replying. The rest of us just sitting here with our figures crossed.

Picked up my 18 2500 6.4 from the service dept. Had it 5 days and replaced a number of exhaust parts, bolts and tightened others. Abnormal start noise just the same. Talked with the service manager. He escalated to their internal "dealer priority fix". This dealer owns several locations. They have a traveling repair team. Supposedly these people have seen it all and know how to diagnose and fix these one off issues. They will be in the second week of July and my truck is one their list.

I'm hearing something funky from the exhaust up front and I have a solo performance delete kit, just wondering if the dealer will give me any crap about it or if I should put the stock muffler back on at least for the dealer visit. 2018 CC 6.4, 3500 miles.

Good question. Have been following this issue on the forum. Some dealers apparently have an issue with owner mods or aftermarket changes, other could care less, with in reason. Others will comment.

Meh, the Big 3 all have this exact same problem.

Unreasonable to be upset? Not at all. Whomever decided M8 studs were acceptable in aluminum head with a cast manifold, haven’t heard of rust jacking.

Yep, we have the same problem with GM. Ridiculous....
