3rd Gen Key/FOB programmed to 4th Gen?

Hey all, I work in and out of the truck and I do not always want to turn it off if I am walking away from it for a few minutes. I'd like to be able to carry just a fob in my pocket instead of the more expensive spare key. (especially if I were to lose it)

So, is it possible to program one of the older style 3rd Gen fobs to my 4th Gen 2017 RAM 2500? also would I be able to get an older style spare key cut to match the blade key inside my current fob?

you can get the key cut, but its only going to open the door and tailgate. i highly doubt programming the fob is possible.

I may just do that then. I just want to be able to turn the truck off while the AC is on, it's too hot in South FL in the summer to wait for it to cool back up again.
