    I am living in turkey and planing to buy 1973 ramcharger. Its engine 449 v8. Has anyone seen any of these engines

    engine size might be 440 no 449 ever
    440 is a big block powered a lot of trucks,motorhomes and muscle cars
    if its a real 440 in good shape I would say you found a jewel

    Yea 440's are brutes I've been around and have driven 440 powered cars and trucks most of my adult life you should have fun with it

    Nice. What's fuel cost in Turkey? A 440 is REAL THIRSTY.

    I had a ramcharger with a big block. Great power and torque not good on the leave but who cares?

    I wonder if the real display didn't of the 440 might have been 449 CID and in Europe before they used the metric system to measure American car motors if they didn't have to call it what it was. Shoot, I'll bet if you do an exact measurement of all car motors none are exactly what we call them. In the motorcycle world they have rounded up or down to make it easier. Like a 125 is usually 123.5cc. Ducati has never used correct numbers, like the 916, is 899cc they claimed is is because the numbers they use look better on the bike.

    I noticed that about all the bikes I've owned. But in this case I think he probably just hit a 9 instead of a 0 on the keyboard.

    Lol valid point...maybe it's a 440 bored out to 449? I've seen stranger things.
