Ok, so I've seen a couple 3rd genners do this swap, but have yet to find any 2nd genners attempt.

i drove a lonestar ram last year that had the big nice center console in it, and has had me thinking about it for a bit.

understandably the panels to attach it to the dash would have to be modified, but i like them. If i can find one around for a reasonable, I.E. real stinkin cheap, i think i might try it out.

the big nice one like this one.

any thoughts, tips, or ideas?

I think that'd be badass and I say DO IT. If you do it and its not TOO awfully difficult it could start a new trend. Those seats and console are nice.

i wished i could use the seats, those things are comfortable, but since i have a quad cab, im stuck like chuck.

but the extra power ports, and usb/aux cable ports in the 4th gen would be nice. i guess im going to start looking around at a couple junk yards to see what i can find.

Do the brackets and bolt locations of the 4th gen seats match up with the 2nd gen floor?

Most likely not. However the existing console can be modified to fit, probably have to drill new holes but it would be worth it.

I seen this post a week ago, and thought I'd give it a try. I just did the seat swap, because I was afraid that if I tried the floor console also, it wouldn't fit right with the 4wd shifter. On the 4th gen seats, they have studs instead of bolts like the 2nd gen. The back studs in the 4th gen line right up. The fronts are about an inch passed the holes on the mounts. But, there is a whole in the 4th gen frame on both sides, and all I had to do was drill a new hole just in front of the bolt holes on the mounts. I used 2 of the old seat bolts, and went to the hardware store to get nuts. After drilling those holes, it bolted right up on all 4 corners. I found the new 4th gen seat on EBay for $200. If your willing to spend a little money, this is a very easy swap. Hope this helps anyone

Neat! I always wished my 2nd gen had cup holders in the center console like this, when I had it, & viola you've done it. Awesome job!

I installed the 4th gen folding console and then had the seats and console reupholstered! Love the new console, the extra cupholders are incredible. $200 for the console on eBay
