12 valve cummins
Hello,

I have a 1995 12 valve 4x4 with a cable actuator for the 4 wheel drive. I bought the truck like this and i am hearing some sort of grinding coming from the front passenger side. I know thats where it engages so i'm thinking its the fork just not coming out all the way. I'm wondering if i am just not using the cable actuator correctly, or if something is actually broken in the axle.

Thank you in advanced.

Don’t know, but should be pretty easy to check. There’s an access plate on the back side of the axle where you can see if it is engaged. At least it is that way on my 1500. I took the cover off when I replaced the axle seal.

I don't know, but if it's a cable maybe it can just be adjusted to fix it.
