Check your local Autozone store...0w40 PUP can be had for as low as $2.00 qt at times...Have the cashier check inventory at other close by stores and stock up...Also some of the other big retail auto parts stores will do price matching, so use it to your advantage.........

$2.00 a quart for the "Pennzoil Ultra Platinum 0W-40 Motor Oil" ???

"Pennzoil Ultra Platinum Chrysler 0W-40 with PurePlus Technology is when you combine PurePlus synthetic base oils with our high performance additives. PurePlus Technology is a patented, revolutionary process that converts pure natural gas into the first-of-its-kind, high quality, full synthetic base oil used in the Pennzoil Platinum line of motor oils. It produces a crystal clear base oil that is 99.5 percent pure with fewer impurities than base oils made from crude oil, the start to many other traditional and synthetic motor oils. PurePlus base oils enable very low volatility formulations with NOACK volatilities of 10 percent and lower - results typical API Group II and III (synthetic) base stocks cannot achieve. This means less oils lost by evaporating off hot engine surfaces such as piston rings."

I checked every auto parts store in town trying to find the correct oil for my 6.4 hemi. Strangely enough, my local Ram dealer has the Pennzoil Ultra Platinum 0w-40 for $2 per quart LESS than the online stores...

Was it the European Formula 0w-40 or the SRT 0w-40 with the proper MS-12633 spec?

They're not the same.

I was all excited a couple weeks ago after seeing this, I went to the only Walmart by me and all they had was the mobile one 0w40. I just ran out of the clearanced out srt oil so my next oil change is going to hurt.

Same for me! I found it at my local dealer for $7.80/quart. I can't find it that cheap online and if I need it today, it's in stock. Actually just changed mine today.

So anyone know what exactly MS-12633 says?

The reason I ask is because Castrol Edge 0w40 is made in Belgium and is a group 4 synthetic available easily at Wally World for $26 for 5 quarts. It's CN rated.

I know Penzoil can be had for under $5 a quart if you play AMAZON's price game, right now it's about $7 with the rebate.

Any thoughts on using a non MS-12633 oil? Anyone run the Castrol Edge in their 6.4L without the engine exploding?

My dealer had a deal for 3 oil changes for $165, so that's what I'm doing now. Once that is done, I'll be buying exactly what they spec and do it myself.

Details on why the cams junk?.... lol. There is no data to be found that shows cam related problems are any kind of common issue with the trucks. If it was expensive then you’d hear “These junky Chrysler cams are way over priced”.

If anyone wants the most peace of mind with their truck, then just simply put in what the manual say to: MS-12633. Which like it or not, is Pennzoil or Amsoil. Arguably the two best-overall brands on the market anyway. The PUP 0-40 is one of the best oils you can buy period. Our engines are made to run with it, take advantage. Spending a few extra bucks on the PUP is a no brainer to me since I want my investment and the vehicle I rely on most to have what the engineers built it with.

Inciting dramatic responses or rebelious claims on an enthusiast forum AND coming from a member who joined that day with 5 initial roque, contentious posts should show the 'validity' to their trolling activity. Personally, instead of a defense position, the best way to handle this is the "have a good day, sir" approach. LOL
